The “Berserk of Gluttony” anime adaptation has announced the unique addition of father-son voice actors Takehito and Kōki Koyasu to its cast, as per details shared on the Berserk of Gluttony official website. The Koyasus will be voicing the characters of Aaron and Luke Barbatos, respectively.
According to Comic Natalie, the anime, based on the light novel series by Ichika Isshiki and fame, has been streaming on U-NEXT and Anime Hōdai services since October 1st and began airing on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, and BS11 on October 4th. Outside of Asia and India, Crunchyroll has taken up the global streaming rights.
In the upcoming episode 7, viewers will be introduced to Aaron Barbatos, a former holy knight, and his son Luke. The episode is set in a village visited by the protagonist, Fate Graphite. The narrative unfolds in a world where skill superiority is the norm, following Fate, initially perceived as inept due to his “Gluttony” skill, which later proves to be a powerful ability.
The casting of Takehito and Kōki Koyasu is particularly noteworthy due to their real-life father-son relationship, mirroring the characters they voice. This adds a layer of authenticity and intrigue to their portrayal.
Additionally, an audio commentary for the anime featuring the Koyasus alongside Hisako Tōjō (voice of Roxy), will be hosted by Misato Matsuoka. This commentary promoted on the official ‘Berserk of Gluttony’ X account and the YouTube channel “genco promotion,” offers behind-the-scenes insights and reflections on the actors’ experiences.
Under the direction of Tetsuya Yanagisawa and script supervision by Mariko Kunisawa, the anime continues to engage audiences. The involvement of the Koyasu family is expected to bring an additional dimension to the series, enhancing its appeal to fans of the genre.
