The Boys are currently on a break ahead of the production of the show’s fifth and final season. The fourth season, despite all the criticism and attempts at review-bombing, was a massive success, and Erick Kripke and his team have continued to do an excellent job with this dark and twisted take on politics and superheroes.
Now, we know that the situation at the end of Season 4 was absolutely horrible, as it seems that Homelander, the major villain of the series, has won now that he has effectively become the President of the United States. While the satire is palpable, there are some in-universe implications.
Namely, the people behind the project are keeping us up-to-date with what is going on in the series, and we thus know that there have been some important changes in Homelander’s administration, which is something that we are going to see in 2026 when the final season premieres.
In a meta move that mimics and satirizes Donald Trump’s re-election as well as his cabinet choices, The Boys have decided to make fun of the whole process by revealing some information about Homelander’s cabinet, whose members will hopefully be revealed in full when the final season comes out.
With Homelander having so much power and control, it doesn’t surprise us that things are going his way, and in light of that, Vought International has revealed two important cabinet-related updates that we wanted to share with you:
It’s with a heavy heart that Firecracker has withdrawn her name from consideration as Head of Homeland Security. Believe all the lies you want, but the TRUTH is that she simply has too much on her plate being VNN’s lead anchor. She looks forward to impacting this nation’s youth… pic.twitter.com/fdqYx7IWEx

The first one is, as you can see that she will not be the new Head of Homeland Security under Homelander, because, as she said, she simply has too much to do as VNN’s lead anchor.
It’s not the fact that she is a lunatic, no, it’s because she has another less-paid job that she has to do. This reminds us of the Matt Gaetz scandal, doesn’t it? Anyhow… onto the second announcement:
Today, Vought is proud to announce Deep as the head of a newly formed agency: the Department of Preserving Earth (DOPE). In this role, he’ll work closely with his best friend Homelander to make our oceans a little more Super. After his resounding success as head of Crime… pic.twitter.com/a8i1M2b8wD

In a less surprising turn of events, The Deep has been named as the Head of the Department of Preserving Earth, a new department whose acronym is DOPE. With him on top and the acronym, we think that the whole story surrounding cabinet member Deep will be very… dope.
And that is what we wanted to share with you. These two meta moments made us laugh as they are yet another brilliant example of how Kripke and his team are able to satirize American politics, which is one of the main reasons why we love this show so much. Before we close this off, here is a recent statement by Kripke about the final season, in which he calls The Boys “punk rock”:
We’re gonna look at the chips we have on the table right now. I live in absolute terror of becoming the thing we’ve been satirizing for five years . The thing about The Boys is that it’s punk rock, and it hurts extra hard when punk rockers sell out .
I’m really working hard to not sell out. We do these shows because we really care about them and we’re passionate about them, and they can tell fresh stories that we can’t tell in The Boys and not just be about rapid expansion but be very careful and mindful about the choices we’re making and being able to defend why we’re making them. I worry about that every single day.
I just want people to say, maybe it’s for them and maybe it isn’t for them, but gotta hand it to them, they maintain a consistent level of quality.
