The fourth season of The Boys finally premiered on June 13, 2024, with the first three episodes of the series. We have reported about the initial critic reviews, which described the fourth season as more or less good, although the early scores were not as high as before. But, as the days passed, the season’s scores began improving, and we can now confirm that the season is Certified Fresh at 95%, which is amazing. But, while the critics are loving the series, the fans are seemingly review bombing it because of its content, as the season has a rotten audience score at just 50%, becoming the first season of the beloved series to score a rotten audience score.

The theory that the low audience scores are the result of review bombing is further corroborated by the fact that the season is enjoying a significant viewership boost when compared to Season 3, as Amazon has confirmed that Season 4 achieved a big 21% viewership boost when compared to Season 3.

The initial reports, as we have said, come from Amazon, as the streaming service revealed that the latest season, which premiered with three episodes on June 13, is already up 21% in total viewers compared to Season 3 in the first four days since launch, which is undoubtedly a major improvement since Season 3 also debuted with three episodes at launch, so the conditions are completely identical.

This means that Season 4 of The Boys is currently among the Top 5 most-viewed TV seasons on Prime Video through its first 4 days, a fact that has also been confirmed by the streaming service.

We have to state, though, that Amazon didn’t release hard data, but they did add that Season 4 managed to attract the second most viewers of any returning season on their streaming service through its first four days, falling behind only Reacher Season 2, which was also a massive hit for Amazon.

Season 4, as Amazon confirms, has done particularly well outside the United States, with 60% of its audience based in territories around the world. Among the countries that Amazon listed individually as bringing in strong ratings are Brazil, the UK, and India.

Amazon has also confirmed that The Boys has now grown in global viewership every season, which indicates that the series is – indeed – doing extremely well despite the review bombing. As far as the future is concerned, we can confirm that more data on the season’s performance will most certainly be available next month when the official Nielsen ratings for Season 4’s debut week will be released. As you can see, The Boys are doing pretty well and we’re happy to see it playing out like that!
