It has become one of Netflix’s biggest animated assets; a video game set in the same universe as the series is in development. The Dragon Prince Season 4 release date
The Dragon Prince was conceived by Aaron Ehasz, who previously worked on Avatar: The Last Airbender. It is based on computer animation instead of cartoons and uses cel shading and a reduced frame rate to adapt the figures and their movements more closely to the look of classic 2D animations and to create a comic look.
The series was produced by Wonderstorm and Bardel Entertainment. The series was first announced on July 10, 2018.[4] A trailer appeared a short time later at San Diego Comic-Con International. The series was first broadcast on September 14, 2018 on the video-on-demand service provider Netflix with 9 episodes in several languages. A second season was announced at New York Comic Con for 2019. This was released on February 15, 2019. The third season was released on November 22, 2019.
In 2020, during Comic-Con’s virtual event, it was revealed that The Dragon Prince had been renewed for a fourth season. But not only that, it was also revealed that the show had been picked up for a total of seven seasons, meaning that the story would be concluded in its entirety. This was, of course, excellent news and it made fans extremely happy. So, what about the release dates?
From what we know at this moment, Season 4 of The Dragon Prince is going to be released in late 2022; we don’t have a precise release date just now. As for seasons five and beyond, we don’t have any news on the release dates for these seasons.

We do know that the season is going to air sometime in 2022, but we do not know how advanced the production is at the moment, so it might be a couple of months before we actually see a trailer, depending on when Netflix plans to release the show.
As we have said, The Dragon Prince was a very likely candidate for a return from the very beginning. The series was enormously popular when it debuted on Netflix and it has a large fandom; on top of that, the creators behind the series have revealed that there are plans to create seven seasons in total, since the narrative concept is divided into seven books. Luckily enough, Netflix has been very kind to the idea itself.

The Dragon Prince Season 4 plot
As you might have guessed, The Dragon Prince is an original animated series, which means that it is not based on any preexisting work. This means that we don’t actually know much about the plot of Season 4 of The Dragon Prince, save for the fact that the protagonists are going to face new threats of various origins, but that’s pretty much it as far as we know. Because of that, we are going to give you an overview of the plot so far.
In the first installment, Book 1: Moon, much of the adventure takes place on the outskirts of Katolis, where Ezran, Callum and Rayla flee carrying the thunder dragon egg. At the end of the season, after the egg falls into a frozen lake and becomes ill, the heroes take it to a city vet, unable to help them, then hoping to find a healer they travel through a valley called “cursed cauldron”, which full of monsters.
These are later revealed to be illusions of a moon elf guardian of a lunar nexus, this illusionist elf named Lujanne cannot help them, but tells them that the best option is for the egg to hatch, for this she must be in the middle After a great storm, Callum decides to break the “primary sky gem” he had taken from Claudia, thus generating a storm where Azymondias the thunder dragon prince is born, Ezran nicknames him “Zym”.
In the second installment, Book 2: Sky, as the heroes travel to Xadia, Viren tries to discover what he is for by the mirror she found in the dragon king’s tower when he stole the egg. After many attempts with revelation spells and questioning a moon elf involved in the attack on the king, turning off the lights, she discovers Aaravos, a star elf imprisoned within the mirror.
He makes contact with it through a ritual where they communicate through a stellar silkworm, and obtains powers with which he attacks the kings of the other kingdoms and tries to usurp the throne. At the end of the season Callum being unconscious and in a deep trance is linked to the sky arcanum, after having used dark magic from Claudia’s book to save a sun dragon that was shot down by Soren.
Ezran then returns to Katolis after learning of the death of his father, King Harrow. While Callum and Rayla, they reach the border between the kingdoms of the West and Xadia.
In the third installment, Book 3: Sun, after wandering around Xadia, Callum and Rayla will have a loving approach. Meanwhile, in Katolis, Ezran will ascend to the throne in the midst of an imminent war and feeling pressured by the other kingdoms, he frees Viren who was imprisoned for treason by proclaiming himself leader of Katolis.
Thanks to the malevolent Aaravos, a star elf trapped in a mirror, Viren gains powers that make him stronger, and with his army and allies from other kingdoms they march to Xadia to exterminate Azymondias, the baby thunder dragon, and his mother the queen. Zubeia dragon. Once in Xadia, Viren raids the Sun Elves’ fortress of “Lux Aurea” in a plan devised by Aaravos to make him and his army powerful.
Together they destroy the sun elf queen and Aaravos’ silkworm grows to the size of a snake. Once they meet Viren’s transformed army at the foot of the “storm tower” an epic and great battle occurs, where the three heroes together with a couple of friends, the army of the sun elves and a couple of dragons, emerge victorious.
In the middle of a distraction Viren climbs the tower, fights Rayla and freezes her, and tries to absorb Zym’s power reaching the top, Rayla pushes Viren, both falling into the void; but Callum saves Rayla using a magic wings spell and the love between both characters is confirmed. In the final scene inside a cave, Claudia revives her father Viren with the use of dark magic, consuming her not completely, and the Aaravos silkworm appears wrapped in a luminous cocoon.

It’s still too early for us to discuss the upcoming fourth season of The Dragon Prince in terms of cast and characters, simply because it’s an original story and we don’t know all of the characters. But, knowing that the earlier seasons had a more or less fixed main cast, we really don’t expect to see too many changes in the structure of season four, when it actually arrives on Netflix. Where to watch The Dragon Prince Season 4?
The first three seasons of The Dragon Prince have been streamed on Netflix internationally, and we know that Netflix, which is also producing the series, is going to air the upcoming fourth season, as well as all of the upcoming seasons of this popular animated series. If, as planned, the subsequent seasons do get produced, they will also be aired on Netflix internationally.
Will there be a Season 5 of The Dragon Prince?
Unlike in the majority of our similar articles, we actually do not have to speculate here, as we know that The Dragon Prince is getting a fifth season. The information was confirmed back in 2020 by Netflix, the show’s production studio, along with the fact that the show would be getting a fourth season as well. The Dragon Prince is, thus, getting several additional seasons after Season 4, but we don’t really know when each of them is going to be released, as Netflix never releases its streaming plans so far ahead.
