Fantastic Four: First Steps is definitely one of the most anticipated upcoming MCU projects. After several failed attempts to bring this group to the big screen, Kevin Feige is finally bringing out the big guns in the hope that the new attempt will be successful and that we are finally going to see a proper Fantastic Four movie.

Now, we recently received a lot of updates about the movie, and this most recent batch of information will certainly see the fans getting very, very excited. Namely, the filming for the movie is slowly coming to an end and we have some updates related to that.

As it turns out, the cast and crew are now flying to Spain to finish the filming process and it seems that the location we know is going to be featured might hint at a connection with Captain America: Civil War. What are we talking about? Keep reading to find out!

As said, we have recently received a lot of new information about the movie, with the most notable one being the movie’s official synopsis. This revealed some interesting details about the story, and before we continue, here is what the official synopsis reveals:

The film follows Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.

As you can see, the movie is going to be a major adventure for the Fantastic Four and since the fate of the whole planet is at stake, you can imagine that the movie will feature numerous locations. As confirmed, the cast and crew are now heading to Spain for their final week of filming:

But, that is not it. If you remember, we have recently reported that the movie will feature the United Nations and that a famous building in Oviedo is going to serve as the stand-in for the United Nations in the movie:

The United Nations in The Fantastic Four: First Steps movie had some fans thinking that there could be a connection between this movie and Captain America: Civil War, where the United Nations was also featured in a major capacity. So, could this imply a connection between the two movies? We’re doubtful and we are not going to explain why.

First of all, the movie is set in a completely separate universe from the main Marvel Earth, at least according to the reports we have. This means that there is no direct connection between the movie and the main MCU universe. Secondly, the director has confirmed that the movie won’t feature any other superheroes, so the connection is unlikely.
