The First Reactions to ‘Twilight of the Gods’ Are In: Has Zack Snyder Finally Done It?
Movie lovers will know that Zack Snyder is a very divisive personality in the world of cinema, as you either love his movies or you hate them. With Snyder, there is no in-between; his vision is so specific that you will either like it completely and enjoy his movies or think it completely ridiculous and consider his movies a failure.
There are numerous projects we could cite, but that would take too long. After the recent failure of Rebel Moon, many believed that Snyder’s career was on its way to oblivion, but it seems that his latest project, the animated series Twilight of the Gods, is doing well and might just usher in some new life into his career.
The series is finally available on Netflix starting on September 19, 2024, and it seems that the first reactions are surprisingly positive, which might indicate that the series might be a hit and that Snyder finally has a project worth following!
Announced a while ago as an anime – but no, it has nothing to do with anime – the series features the voice talents of Sylvia Hoeks as Sigrid, Stuart Martin as Leif, Pilou Asbæk as Thor, John Noble as Odin, Paterson Joseph as Loki, Rahul Kohli as Egill, Jamie Clayton as The Seid-Kona, Kristofer Hivju as Andvari, Peter Stormare as Ulfr, Jamie Chung as Hel, Lauren Cohan as Inge and Corey Stoll as Hrafnkel.
And while you never know what to expect when Snyder is in question, the first reactions to the series are in, and it seems that Snyder has finally done it and made a good project, although probably not in the format he prefers:
Zack Snyder's #TwilightOfTheGods starts strong with some great performances and an inspired story but loses steam in the show's quieter moments. pic.twitter.com/ZecCB37yPw

Despite impressive visuals, #TwilightoftheGods is a disappointment. Zack Snyder’s series relies on gratuitous sex scenes and extremely gory violence but it forgets to actually deliver a good story.

A gorgeous Norse epic that beautifully weaves mythology through Sigrid's brutal quest for revenge.

While Zack Snyder's Twilight of the Gods overindulges in the depravity and gruesomeness of its ultra-violent Norse setting, it manages to eke out a worthwhile tale of revenge despite itself.
