Netflix has released the first trailer for “Masters of the Universe: Revelation”. It is a direct sequel to the 1983 series “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe”, with the difference that the sequel is intended for adult audiences, those who were fans of the original.

The once very popular animated series from the 80’s “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” (1983-1985) will get its sequel after 34 years. The series will be called “Masters of the Universe: Revelation” and will continue where the original series from the 80’s stopped.

Netflix has also released the first trailer you can watch below.

We also got a short synopsis: The War for Eternia culminates in Masters of the Universe: Revelation, an innovative and action-packed animated series that continues the story of these iconic characters where it left off decades ago. After the cataclysmic battle between He-Man and Skeletor, Eternia is broken, and the guards of the Gray Skull are scattered and separated. It is up to Teela to reunite the broken company of heroes and solve the mystery of He-Man’s missing Sword of Power in a race against time to restore Eternia and prevent the end of the universe.

Kevin Smith has assembled a great cast. The voices of the characters will be given by Chris Wood as He-Man, Mark Hamill as Skeletor, Lena Headey as Evil-Lyn, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Teela, Henry Rollins as Tri-Clops, Phil LaMarr as He-Ro, Kevin Michael Richardson as Beast Man and Kevin Conroy as Mer-Man.

The animation was done by Powerhouse studios, known for working on the animated series Castlevania, for which they picked up great reviews. The classic characters from The Lord of the Universe look better than ever, and their colorful world of fiction looks great in published images.

Netflix has announced that the series will debut on July 23 this year, and that the first part will consist of 5 episodes. The second part will be published later, the date is still unknown.
