Fans and critics alike praised Netflix’s Squid Game, which went on to become another popular series for the streaming site. It has been a while since we learned that the series will receive a second season, the premiere date of which is coming up very, very soon.

The first season, which aired in 2021 and included nine episodes, was followed by the release of the reality spin-off Squid Game: The Challenge in 2023. Now that we have shown you the trailer, let us continue with the information we have about the second season. As said, the second season is coming out on December 26, 2024, when the first episode, titled “Bread and Lottery,” will be released.

As of the time of writing, we still don’t know how many episodes the season will have or whether Netflix is going to be releasing it in parts or not.

The plot will be set three years after Gi-hun’s victory in the previous edition of the Squid Game, after which he gave up on going to the United States and came back with a new resolution in mind.

With that in mind, he decides to go back to the game that changed his life and starts a new life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of ₩45.6 billion.

The main cast members confirmed so far are Lee Jung-jae as Seong Gi-hun, Wi Ha-joon as Hwang Jun-ho, Lee Byung-hun as Hwang In-ho, the Front Man.

Lee Seo-hwan will appear in a recurring role as Gi-Hun’s friend, while Gong Yoo will have a guest role as a salesman who recruits participants for the Game.

Confirmed actors whose roles are as of yet undisclosed are: Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Jo Yu-ri, Kang Ae-shim, Lee David, Lee Jin-wook, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Won Ji-an, Park Gyu-young, Jeon Seok-ho, Kim Si-eun, and Oh Dal-su.
