The Legend Of Vox Machina Season 2: Release Date, Trailer, Plot, Cast, & More
The first season of The Legend of Vox Machina had just concluded with a major cliffhanger, and this left fans wondering whether or not the story will be continued in the next season. Of course, leaving behind a cliffhanger without the guarantee of a second season will only make things worse for fans. So, is the Legend of Vox Machina renewed for a second season, and when will season 2 be released?
There will be a season 2 of The Legend of Vox Machina, as the second season was ordered way back in 2019 when the first season was announced. Meanwhile, it still is up in the air when the second season will arrive. But there is a good chance that it will be released late in 2022 or early in 2023.
Amazon saw the potential for The Legend of Vox Machina early on when it ordered it to have a total of 24 episodes across two seasons. As such, it was already decided that it was going to have at least two seasons. That said, we are going to discuss the possibilities of when season 2 will arrive and what its plot is going to be.
The Legend Of Vox Machina Season 2 Release Date
The Legend of Vox Machina season 1 had just recently concluded, with the arc ending when the Briarwoods were finally killed and defeated before they could completely summon the Whispered One. We saw the team working together to defeat Sylas Briarwood as Keyleth dealt the final blow to the vampire using a concentrated light-based magic attack. His defeat ended his charm over both Cassandra and Vax.
Meanwhile, in the final episode, the entire squad was able to stave off the spirit of vengeance that was possessing Percy through his pepperbox pistol. He was able to stop himself from allowing the demon to take him over by killing Delilah, but Cassandra went on to kill the necromancer instead. And after that, Whitestone was left in the capable hands of Cassandra and the townspeople, who went on to rebuild their town.
From there, Vox Machina went back to Emon to clear their names to the sovereign of Tal’Dorei. And after the sovereign made a huge announcement that had implications for the next season, we were left with a huge cliffhanger.
As big of a cliffhanger as it was, it left fans excited to stay tuned for what’s to come in the next season. So, with that said, is there even going to be a second season for Vox Machina? And when will season 2 be released?
The good news is that the second season of The Legend of Vox Machina was planned long before the first season even premiered. Back when the production crew started working on the first season in 2019, Amazon saw the potential of the series and went on to order additional episodes so that the series would have two seasons.
As such, the series had long been renewed several years back as there is certainly going to be a second season of The Legend of Vox Machina. In fact, the original plan was for it to have a total of 24 episodes across two seasons.
Considering that the second season was already in the books before the first episode even premiered, the good news is that production for the second half of the 24-episode plan probably began long before as well. That means that there is a good chance that the second season will arrive anytime during the second half of 2022, as it may come late this year.
With The Lord of The Rings series happening during the second half of 2022, it may be possible that Amazon will push Vox Machina sometime late in the year. It may also be possible that it can come earlier this year or within the next few months.
That said, the worst-case scenario is for the second season of The Legend of Vox Machina to release early in 2023. And considering that animated shows are not as logistics-heavy as live-action shows, it won’t take too long for the production crew to finish working on the second season, in case they haven’t finished it already.
The Legend Of Vox Machina Season 2 Trailer
As of now, there is no trailer for the second season of The Legend of Vox Machina. It might be possible that the trailer will come in the next few weeks, considering that there is a chance that the crew had already finished up animating the season 2 episodes long ago.
The Legend Of Vox Machina Season 2 Plot
As mentioned, season 1 of The Legend of Vox Machina ended with a cliffhanger. King Uriel, the sovereign, announced that he had made mistakes and that he was willing to cede the governance over the empire to the Tal’Dorei Council. As everyone was still trying to process this announcement, Vex experienced headaches that she only experiences whenever dragons are nearby.
From there, we saw King Uriel and Keyleth looking out into the distance while their faces were seemingly horrified at what was coming to the city of Emon. From there, we saw not just one but four dragons making their way to the city, as the series is seemingly headed towards the next arc in the Critical Role storyline, which is The Chroma Conclave.
Those who are familiar with the Critical Role storyline would know that the Chroma Conclave is a group of five dragons of different colors. Brimscythe, the enemy of the first two episodes, had already been dealt with. That means that there are still four remaining dragons from the Chroma Conclave, and all four of them were approaching Emon at the end of season 1.
In the Critical Role storyline, the four dragons attacked and destroyed the city, as the members of Vox Machina helped save as many people as they could and brought them to Whitestone. After that, they rallied their remaining forces to attack the dragons in a desperate attempt to take back their home. If Tal’Dorei already struggled with Brimscythe, who was the youngest and quite possibly the weakest out of the five, attacking four ancient dragons was going to be tougher.
As such, it is going to be possible that the plot of the second season will focus entirely on the Chroma Conclave arc, as the heroes are going to have to deal with the dragons that sacked their city and forced them to run and hide. And as Critical Role fans would know, there is more to this arc than just Vox Machina attempting to kill all four of the dragons at the same time.
The Legend Of Vox Machina Season 2 Cast
Considering that the events in season 2 of The Legend of Vox Machina are going to happen right after the events of season 1, the main cast will come back together. This means that we will be seeing all of Vox Machina, which is composed of:

How Many Seasons Of Vox Machina Will There Be?
The original plan for The Legend of Vox Machina was for it to have two seasons because Amazon saw its potential. That said, there is no telling whether or not a third season will be in the books for the series, considering that the fate of the next seasons after season 2 will rest entirely on the performance of the first two seasons.
