The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power became a popular series on Amazon, regardless of what many fans think of it. The show has, as we have repeatedly reported, been renewed for a second season, which will debut with three episodes later today, on August 29, 2024. Yes, the day for the long-awaited second season has finally come, and in light of that, we have some exciting news for you.

If you’ve been following us, we’ve reported that the series has already received a Certified Fresh rating, with critics highlighting a (significant) improvement from Season 1, but we have yet another piece of information that will confirm just how popular the show really is.

Namely, ahead of the second season, whose premiere is today, Amazon – according to Movie Web – has confirmed that The Rings of Power Season 1 reached the top of its video charts once again, as fans are eagerly waiting for the second season to begin.

In case you don’t remember, The Rings of Power was a pretty controversial show for Amazon. The critics liked it, but it was not without its flaws, which is why a lot of the fans were divided. Still, the series managed to attract a solid number of viewers despite the fact that it was review-bombed by the “fans” who did not like the female lead and the diverse cast.

The series was renewed for a second season in 2019, with filming moving from New Zealand to the United Kingdom. This piece of news came after the first season ended its successful run, and while the series faded into the background since then, with the second season coming up soon, the fans are once again excited, and the numbers seem to confirm it.

Namely, the first season of the show managed to break into the first spot once again, as The Rings of Power became the most-watched show on Amazon Prime once again. With the second season coming up, we are quite certain that it will remain there for a while, as it seems that Amazon is going to have another hit season in its library!
