The TMNT Redesign from the ‘Naruto’ Crossover Is the Coolest Thing You’ve Ever Seen!

Fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) definitely have a lot to be happy about. One of the most popular comic book series of all time, which became a franchise consisting of various derivative works, is going through a renaissance in recent years: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem was a major success, and the characters had a major DC crossover event, the animated series is doing well… but there is more!

Namely, as you probably know, the Heroes in a Halfshell are currently enjoying a major crossover with one of the biggest animanga franchises of all time – Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto! This is fitting, seeing how both franchises explore the world of the shinobi.

The first issue of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Naruto was released on November 20, 2024, and everyone is just so excited with the new content and everything that it brings, including a cool redesign for the Turtles, which is as epic as it can get!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Naruto #1, written by Caleb Goellner with art by Hendry Prasetya, is a true crossover event. The worlds of Naruto and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have merged seamlessly. There doesn’t seem to be any issue with that.

In the first issue, members of Team 7 are assigned to accompany and protect April O’Neil, a reporter, while she is working on a story about a scientist (yes, yes, it’s Baxter Stockman) who is experimenting on humans and animals to fuse them into mutant shinobi.

While on the way, they are attacked by members of the Foot clan, and the shinobi are surprised by the arrival of four mutated turtles and a mutant rat, who fight off the enemies and protect them.

Team 7 suspects they are there for April and attacks them, but the rat soon calls off the attack, and Kakashi, with his Sharingan, removes the mutant group’s masks and casually greets the rat mutant, recognizing him as Hamato Yoshi.

This is how the story starts and how the Turtles are integrated into the world of Naruto, but aside from this truly epic introduction, they also revealed the redesigns of the Turtles for the world of Naruto, i.e., their epic masks, which you can check out here:

We know that the Turtles have gone through numerous visual changes over the years, but to be completely frank, this is probably the coolest redesign we’ve seen. We don’t know how much Kishimoto influenced this, but even if he did not, the redesign is absolutely great and we look forward to seeing more of the same in the future!
