Although The Witcher has quite big problems in the production of the second season, the first page of the script was leaked today, in which we can read how Geralt’s adventure will continue.
The Witcher season 1 debuted on Netflix in December 2019. The story follows Geralt, the title character, as he travels the continent battling monsters.
Witchers are genetically modified people, raised and trained as fighters. Transformation is difficult and often deadly, so there are only a few left in the world.
Season 1 takes place in three separate time series; in Geralt’s timeline, during 20 years, Geralt has a tumultuous relationship with the witch Yennefer, meets a musician named Jaskier (Joey Batey) who will not leave him alone despite Geralt’s outward dislike for him, and becomes the guardian of Ciri (Freya Allan), a young princess from Cintra.
Despite some confusion about the order of events in the series, the series was generally well-received. Netflix apparently had confidence in the series, as it was renewed for season 2 before the broadcast of season 1.
Production in the second season began in early 2020 but was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The filming was recently restarted, but recently production was stopped again due to several positive tests on COVID-19 for several members of the production team.
However, the thorny production encountered new problems when the main actor Henry Cavill was allegedly injured and will not be able to film for some time. Hopefully, all of these issues won’t break the deadline too much as season 2 is still recorded to arrive during 2021.
Now the the first page of the second season script has ‘leaked’ and you can check it out below:
