The story takes place in Rome during the reign of Hadrian. We follow Lucius Modestus, an architect specializing in the construction of thermal baths, who happens to be on the downward slope. His ideas are considered too classic and he abandons his wife. Everything changes when one day, bathing in the thermal baths, he is sucked under water and finds himself projected into modern Japan.
He then discovers new processes and objects that he puts into practice once he returns to his ancient world. Subsequently, each time he needs an idea to innovate, he finds himself in a place in Japan corresponding to his needs. In the second half of the manga, Lucius’ situation changes.
In volume 4, he finds himself a prisoner of the modern era. At the same time, we discover the character of Satsuki, a young woman passionate about ancient Rome to the point that she can speak a little Latin. When Lucius meets Satsuki, she becomes the intermediary he lacked to understand the strange world where he regularly landed.

The only issue that Season 2 has to tackle is for how long Lucius can keep up his little play.
