‘Thunderbolts*’ Trailer Confirms Lewis Pullman Is Playing the Powerful Hero Sentry
With Deadpool and Wolverine having a successful run in theaters, and the exciting news that Robert Downey Jr. will return to play Victor Von Doom as the MCU’s next main villain; the future of the MCU looks bright again after a series of disappointing projects.
In the meantime, before the next two major Avengers movies, the MCU will release several other projects. Some will generate more excitement than others, but all are highly anticipated. One of these projects is the planned Thunderbolts* movie, which, barring unforeseen circumstances, is slated for release on May 2, 2025.
The first proper trailer for the upcoming movie has just been released, and the fans are seemingly loving it; the trailer also finally revealed a lot of new information, and we are more than happy to share it with you and analyze it for you. One of the major reveals of the trailer was Lewis Pullman’s character and this article is going to be about him.
The cast of the upcoming Thunderbolts* movie will feature several well-known MCU cast members and characters, including David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov / Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr / Ghost, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Wyatt Russell as John Walker / U.S. Agent, Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov / Taskmaster, and Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova.
Other characters will, of course, appear as well, and the one we are interested in is Lewis Pullman’s mysterious character named Bob Reynolds. While the fans had been speculating about Bob’s identity for a while, almost everyone was quite certain that Pullman was playing Marvel’s powerful superhero Sentry and the trailer has just confirmed that. Here it is:
As you can see, Lewis Pullman’s character introduces himself as Bob, but official sources confirm that he is actually Sentry, and Marvel fans will probably know that Sentry’s human alias is Robert “Bob” Reynolds.
In light of that, it should be noted that Sentry’s appearance had been confirmed early on, as Steve Yeun was initially cast as the character. But when the movie ended up being delayed, Yeun had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts and Pullman was cast as his replacement.
It is still unknown what role the Sentry is going to play, but based on the scene, we see that his retrieval is not “just another mission.” The plot of the movie is still a big mystery so we don’t have any details, but we cannot wait to find out more!
