Titan Announces ‘Kraken,’ New Supernatural History Horror with Lovecraftian Vibes

Kraken is shaping up to be a must-read for fans of horror, adventure, and the occult. Created by Shannon Eric Denton (Spider-Man, League of Legends) and David Hartman (Phantasm: Ravager, Transformers Prime), this original graphic novel combines supernatural elements with historical themes.
Titan Comics will release Kraken in September, and the story is set in an alternate 1930s filled with dark magic, eldritch monsters, and occult powers.
The story follows the mysterious Kraken, a once-missing adventurer who returns to stop a powerful sorceress from unleashing an army of terrifying creatures. Armed with supernatural tentacles and a pistol, Kraken is ready to face unimaginable horrors. Kraken promises to deliver action, adventure, romance, and horror with some weird twists.
This project has already caught the attention of some big names in the industry. Both Denton and Hartman have long careers in film, television, and comics, with Denton being an award-winning director and writer, and Hartman known for his work on Transformers Prime and Phantasm: Ravager.
As Denton shares, Kraken is a blend of pulp heroes and cosmic horror, a passion project that brings together elements from creators like Mike Mignola, Dave Stevens, and Kevin Conran. Hartman, the artist, is equally excited: ‘When Shannon showed me the script, I was hooked immediately!’
Kraken will feature two covers, one by Hartman and another by Mike Mignola (Hellboy). It’s available for pre-order now from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books A Million, and Forbidden Planet UK ahead of its September 30th release.
