The official release date for the first two episodes is November 13 and it’s coming out on the Paramount+ streaming platform. The show follows Stallone who plays a Mafia member called Dwight Manfredi who just got let out of prison and was sent to Tulsa where he tries to set up a criminal organization. Some of the key cast members include Andrea Savage, Martin Starr, Jay Will, Max Casella, Domenick Lombardozzi, Vincent Piazza, and of course Sylvester Stallone.

If you are interested in the show so far, scroll a little bit further for the official trailer and for more information about the Tulsa King series.

The plot

The series follows an ex-mafia member Dwight Manfredi who just got let out of prison after 25 years. Dwight, nicknamed „The General“ kept his mafia family’s secret for all these years and was expecting to have earned some reward when he comes back. His mafia family had other plans in mind. They assigned him to go to a classic middle-American town called Tulsa in Oklahoma.

His job would be to establish their business there, Dwight has to start from scratch and navigate a new area that doesn’t have its reach into the community there. On the way, he meets different mischievous characters and starts to build his own empire.

Release date

The project was first announced in December 2021 and it was revealed that Sylvester Stallone would be joining as the lead. Tulsa King was created by Taylor Sheridan who wrote the initial idea and first draft during the Pandemic.

Sheridan wrote it and pitched it to Sylvester Stallone, who said he wanted to join the project, all this in a week. He pitched it to Paramount and it was sold quickly after that.

The official release date for the first two episodes is scheduled to come out on November 13th on the Paramount+ streaming site. We’re expecting to see Paramount+ expand globally soon so watch out for that as well. While it was already available to the U.K., the first rollout to Europe is starting with France this year on December 1st and then soon after that Germany, Austria, and Switzerland on December 8th.

Cast & Crew

The following is a list of key cast and crew members on the project.

  • Sylvester Stallone as Dwight “The General” Manfredi
  • Max Casella as Armand Truisi
  • Domenick Lombardozzi as Don Charles “Chickie” Invernizzi
  • Vincent Piazza as Vince Antonacci
  • Jay Will as Tyson
  • A.C. Peterson as Pete “The Rock” Invernizzi
  • Andrea Savage as Stacy Beale
  • Martin Starr as Bohdi

The show was produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios. The executive producers include Sheridan, Winter, Stallone, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Allen Coulter, and Braden Aftergood.

Notably, the creator of the show Taylor Sheridan has been working on nine different projects for Paramount since 2018, one of them being Yellowstone. Yellowstone starring Kevin Costner and Kelly Reilly has had a very good reception so far and was the first project from which the rest have followed.

We could definitely say that Tulsa King operates in the same Sheridan Universe and maybe one day the two will collide. So far we have “1883” which is a prequel to the Yellowstone universe which follows the main family origin story, then we have a sequel to the prequel called “1932” in which the same family endures the Great Depression and Prohibition.

Then came the spin-off show “6666”, after that a non-Yellowstone drama starring Jeremy Rennes called “Mayor of Kingstown”, then “Lioness”, “Bass Reeves”, and finally “Land Man”.

Trailer and more

The following is the official trailer for Tulsa King.

In the original draft, the show was supposed to take place in Kansas but after some further talks Tulsa came up and it was the perfect match the team was looking for.

What is also very exciting regarding the project is that with the new season of Yellowstone coming up there will be a screening at AMC Theatres and it will be available across hundred AMC locations on Saturday, October 29.

Alongside the sneak peek for season 5 of Yellowstone they will also be showing the newest Sheridan project – Tulsa King. Tickets for this event are 15$ and they go on sale Thursday, October 20th the official AMC Theatre site and AMC Mobile App. Fans can dress up as their favorite Yellowstone characters and have a chance to win a Yellowstone merchandise prize.
