In a world where human emotion has been deemed an inconvenience, the government has managed to eradicate it using a mandatory daily vitamin. A young couple skips their daily dose and they then discover the joy of love and sex for the first time. They however quickly realize that it is not all flowery as they have to deal with the baggage that comes with having emotions.
Love, Simon and Jurassic World star Nick Robinson and The Morning Show star Bel Powley have been set to star in the sci-fi rom-com titled Turn Me On.
The script for the film is written by Angela Bourassa. Michael Tyburski is directing. This marks the second collaboration between the director and Film Constellation – a London-based sales firm, after Sundance drama The Sound of Silence, which was picked up by Sony. Film Constellation is launching international pre-sales at the virtual EFM this week.
The film is being produced by Zareh Nalbandian, Toby Nalbandian and Gregory Schmidt of Truant Pictures, and Sean Bradley. Angela Bourassa serves as executive producer.
Speaking about the movie, the director Michael Tyburski said,
“The film has both love and humor, but is anchored within the science-fiction genre—a world I’m completely invigorated to build and play in. I couldn’t be more excited to bring this original story to life with the incredibly talented Bel and Nick.”
“Hearty, funny, and ripe with romance, Turn Me On starts with a simple premise that speaks to the nature of our existence today: how do you learn to fall in love in a world where emotions have no place? A reimagined rom-com with a twist, the perfect date night film every couple will want to see!”Fabien Westerhoff, CEO Film Constellation.
Principal Photography is planned to begin in fall 2022. The film will be out in late 2023.
