TV Anime ‘My Stepmom’s Daughter is My Ex’ Releases 1st PV and Other Details
Kyousuke Kamishiro’s light novel series My Stepmom’s Daughter is My Ex official Twitter account and website announced that the novel will be getting a TV anime adaptation sometime this year. The other information released was a key visual, teaser PV, and two cast members.
Check out the trailer PV below:
The story centers on high school students Yume Irido, played by Rina Hidaka, and Mizuto Irido, played by Hiro Shimono. The protagonists dated in junior high but parted ways on graduation. To their horror, they end up as siblings after their parents remarry – talk about complicated, right?
In the short trailer, viewers get a glimpse into Yume and Mizuto’s characters. Both are somewhat tsundere and appear to bicker and fight every second of the day; however, they don’t seem to hate the other that much when they’re on their own. How will these two teenagers maneuver life together as a family rather than ex-lovers?
The key visual released alongside the announcement features the Irido siblings. You can view the visual below:
Voice actors Rina and Hiro shared a few comments with Comic Natalie regarding the upcoming anime. Rina describes the setting of the story as complicated but sad. She says that it’s a touching youth story that feels very real. Rina also said she enjoyed recording the scenes with her coworker, Hiro.
Meanwhile, Hiro describes the character he plays as an annoying kid who likes to read. He tells fans to look forward to this coming-of-age story about two quirky kids stuck in a weird situation.
Apart from the anime slated for 2022, the exact premiere date is unknown. More information will be released in the following months.
