‘Twister’ Sequel ‘Twisters’ Unleashes Destructive Force in Explosive First Trailer


The highly anticipated first trailer for ‘Twisters,’ the sequel to the iconic disaster film ‘Twister,’ made a whirlwind debut during the Super Bowl, leaving audiences in awe of its intensified chaos and destruction. Unlike its predecessor, ‘Twisters’ introduces an entirely new cast of characters who are set to face nature’s wrath on an unprecedented scale.

Set to hit theaters on July 19, 2024, ‘Twisters’ promises a high-octane disaster movie experience, elevating the genre to new heights. The film follows Kate Cooper, portrayed by Daisy Edgar-Jones, a former storm chaser haunted by a past tornado encounter. Cooper, now a storm pattern researcher in New York, is drawn back to the open plains by her friend Javi (Anthony Ramos) to test a revolutionary storm tracking system. Their paths cross with Tyler Owens (Glen Powell), a daredevil social-media sensation known for his perilous storm-chasing exploits.

As the storm season escalates, the characters are confronted with never-before-seen meteorological phenomena, thrusting them into a life-or-death struggle amidst converging storms over Oklahoma. Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, known for his acclaimed work on ‘Minari,’ and written by Mark L. Smith of ‘The Revenant’ fame, “Twisters” boasts an ensemble cast that includes Brandon Perea, Maura Tierney, Kiernan Shipka, David Corenswet, and Katy O’Brian.
