Uncle Ben Finally Becomes a Superhero in Ongoing ‘Spider-Man’ Series

The term “Comic Book Death,” which is actually an official term and not just a self-evident phrase, has most often been associated with Jean Grey, Jason Todd, Superman, and Uncle Ben from Spider-Man‘s universe. The character has a very important role in the history of Spider-Man comics, which is why it is always interesting to revisit his story.
In light of that, a new ongoing comic book series has finally decided to redefine Uncle Ben’s role in the world of Spider-Man, transforming him from a tragic death that triggers a change into a proper superhero, although there is a twist to it, as you might expect.
If you want to know what the writers of the ongoing Ultimate Spider-Man comic book series have planned for Uncle Ben (and J. Jonah James, for that matter!), continue reading our report as the story we are about to bring you is very, very interesting!
Uncle Ben is known as the trigger that changes Spider-Man’s life. He is usually killed early on, and his death is an extremely important part of Spider-Man’s origin story. And that has been, for the most part, his role in the lore. The fans think of this first, and Uncle Ben has been a symbol of growth for Spider-Man for decades. But, as you might assume, this is not the only version of the story.
There are alternative versions of the story, and one recent version is presented to us in the Ultimate Spider-Man ongoing comic book series, which is part of Marvel’s Ultimate universe, which is probably its most famous alternative universe.
In the series, we see a very different Uncle Ben, who is a newspaper editor and investigative journalist working with J. Jonah Jameson to counter Wilson Fisk’s reign over New York, which is – as you might assume – criminal.
The two of them have put their skills to work and are working on articles whose goal is to expose Kingpin’s criminal reign in New York and deal damage to the crime boss in such a way.
But, Ultimate Spider-Man #10 by Jonathan Hickman and guest artist David Messina isn’t important because of that, but because it turned Uncle Ben and Jameson into proper superheroes.
If you notice the article in question, you will see that it is written by Ben Reilly, a pseudonym used by Ben and Jameson for such articles, but that is also not the most important part. Namely, fans will probably know that Ben Reilly is the superhero Scarlet Spider, an alternative version of Spider-Man, and in that aspect, James and Uncle Ben have become proper superheroes, although in slightly different forms!
