This Valentine’s Day, love turns lethal with the new slasher flick Heart Eyes. From the creative minds behind Freaky, Happy Death Day, and Werewolves Within, this terrifying tale hits theaters on February 7, 2025.

The fresh trailer is out now (see below), showcasing some of the grisly deaths that await. It’s clear—we’re in for a truly Bloody Valentine this year.

The revival of holiday-themed slashers, spurred by the success of the Scream and Halloween series, is alive and well. Heart Eyes follows in the footsteps of Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving from 2023, with more holiday horrors like Silent Night, Deadly Night on the way later this year, thanks to Bloody Disgusting and Cineverse.

Before we provide you with more information about the movie, here’s the trailer:

Directed by Josh Ruben (Werewolves Within, Scare Me), Heart Eyes stars Mason Gooding (Scream) and Olivia Holt (Cruel Summer). This film has earned an R rating for ‘strong violence and gore, language, and some sexual content.’

The story revolves around the Heart Eyes Killer, who terrorizes couples on Valentine’s Day. This year, no couple will escape the carnage. Gigi Zumbado (The Real Bros of Simi Valley), Michaela Watkins (Dinner with the Parents), Devon Sawa (Final Destination, Chucky), and Jordana Brewster (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning) also feature in the cast.

Heart Eyes comes from Screen Gems and Spyglass, with a script penned by Phillip Murphy (The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard) and the duo Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) and Michael Kennedy (Freaky).

Producers include Christopher Landon, Greg Gilreath, and Adam Hendricks (M3gan, Totally Killer), while Spyglass’s Gary Barber and Chris Stone take on executive production roles alongside Mel Turner, Philip Murphy, and Michael Kennedy.
