The Boys is one of the most popular superhero series in the world, as we all know. Since June 13, 2024, the series’ fourth season has been airing and we’re close to the finale. The season is currently Certified Fresh with high ratings, and Amazon has reported that the series also saw an increase in viewership.

Despite that, some fans are review-bombing the season due to its increased political undertone. One aspect of the season’s political satire is a new character called Firecracker, a new supervillain who will have a prominent role in this season. In the most recent episode of the show, Firecracker has been involved in a disgusting and bizarre scene with Homelander.

Actress Valorie Curry, who is playing Firecracker this season, talked to Variety about that particular scene, and she revealed her thoughts and experiences with filming it, as well as how the whole scene came to be. In this report, we are going to reveal what she said.

Of course, the scene we are talking about is the breastfeeding scene, which involved Curry’s Firecracker revealing that she took medication to produce breast milk, all because she wanted to make Homelander happy. When faced with that revelation and the opportunity to take his milk directly from the source, the villain became happy and went right at it, as you can see for yourselves:

It is, of course, disgusting, but it is in line with the tone of the episode, and while many could not watch it directly, the scene will undoubtedly remain as one of the most iconic moments in The Boys, as a scene that challenged the boundaries of our tolerance to the weird and twisted sh*t that Kripke and his writers can present us within their story.

As you can assume, the scene needed a lot of preparation, and actress Valorie Curry commented on the scene for Variety, revealing that filming it went smoothly:

“I love how that scene played so much, because we both came to it with this utter vulnerability and full of sincerity — which just makes it so much fucking weirder,” Curry said. “But with Firecracker, despite her just insanity and the things that she spews, she has this uncanny ability to know what people need, whether it’s in a crowd or it’s one on one. And even Homelander, she can see the human inside that shell, and she can see what that human needs, even if it looks like a bizarre fetish on the outside. And she’s willing to give him that also, because she’s not afraid of him — she should be. But she truly believes her vision of who he is, so she feels like she has no reason to be afraid of him, and makes herself so vulnerable to his vulnerability. It’s so intimate.”

As you can see, the symbolic value of the scene for the show is something the actors had in mind while filming it and we’re just glad that filming it progressed without any problems and that all parties involved were satisfied with the scene as a whole.

The Boys are sure to provide us with more such scenes before the season is over, so be sure to keep following us for all the updates!
