'Wednesday' Season 2 Reveals Full Cast, with Some Surprising Additions

Wednesday was one of Netflix’s biggest hits last year, as the supernatural teen drama starring Jenna Ortega in the titular role became a global hit. Of course, a second season was ordered, and we know that the series is going to begin production later this year, probably eyeing a 2025 release date, although we still don’t have any precise confirmation about the release. Numerous rumors have been circulating in the past months about the cast of the new season, and we’ve finally received a major update that confirms all the major names we are going to see in the upcoming season.

The list is quite comprehensive, as we now know all the main actors who are going to be back for the second season, as well as those who’ve been upped to series regulars. Some guest stars have also been confirmed, as well as recurring characters, but we also know who won’t be coming back for the second season.

Even before the casting update, we knew that series star Jenna Ortega would be back in the titular role. We also knew that Emma Myers would be back as Enid, Joy Sunday as Bianca, and Hunter Doohan as Tyler, all of which has been confirmed now. Returning are also Moosa Mostafa as Eugene and Georgie Farmer as Ajax. Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), Luis Guzmán (Gomez Addams), and Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley Addams) have been upped to series regulars for Season 2, reprising their roles from the first season. Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo will also return Ritchie Santiago, who has been upped to series regular as well, now that Jamie McShane has been dropped to the status of a recurring actor; his character, Sheriff Donovan Galpin, will appear in Season 2, but in a much smaller capacity.

As for new series regulars, we can confirm that Steve Buscemi will appear as Barry Dort, the school’s new headmaster, Billie Piper as Capri, and that Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor will also appear in undisclosed roles.

As for the guest stars of Season 2, we can confirm that Joanna Lumley will appear as Grandmama, Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester (reprising), and Thandiwe Newton as Dr. Fairburn, while Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, Joonas Suotamo, and Christopher Lloyd have been cast in undisclosed roles.

As for those who won’t be making a comeback, we can confirm that former series regular Percy Hynes White has been completely dropped from the show, most likely due to the sexual assault scandal he was involved in, as has Naomi J Ogawa, but not because of any scandal, but because the writers won’t be pursuing the storyline involving her vampire student character Yoko Tanaka anymore; she might make a guest appearance, though, but that has not been confirmed at this point. As you can see, this was – indeed – a major casting update!

And that is more or less it. We know that Wednesday will provide us with a lot of entertainment in the second season as well, so we are looking forward to seeing the season finally come to life. Of course, we on Fiction Horizon are going to be bringing you the latest updates, so be sure to keep following us if you want to know everything.
