One of the most popular series on Netflix today is Welcome to Eden, which has become as big as it is thanks to the fact that it follows a somewhat unique story that is thrilling and full of drama and suspense. There have been a lot of people that have binged through the first season through the weekend and are now waiting for news regarding its second season. So, when will Welcome to Eden season 2 be released?

Season 2 is yet to be announced as of this writing as Welcome to Eden is yet to be renewed by Netflix. In most cases, Netflix usually waits around a month before deciding on the future of a series, depending on the amount of traffic. If renewed, Welcome to Eden might return around the same time in 2023.

Considering that it has only been recently since Netflix released Welcome to Eden, it is still too early to decide on the future of the series. Even though it hasn’t received the best reviews from critics, Welcome to Eden may have enough traffic to warrant a renewal. As such, we are here tuning in on the future of the series and whether or not it will get a second season.

Welcome To Eden Season 2 Release Date

Those who have been keeping up with the latest releases of Netflix would know that Welcome to Eden is one of the newest shows to make it to the streaming giant’s library. This is a Spanish series that follows the story of a group of teenagers that was forcibly made to stay on a secluded island after an exclusive party was held on it.

The series begins with Zoa and some of the other young adults who were invited to an exclusive party on a secluded island as they boarded a boat to their destination. And most of these young adults didn’t know one another but were selectively chosen, depending on their personal histories and social status.

While on the island, things seemed normal as the people were partying and having the time of their lives. The hosts of the party told them that the purpose of the party was to have them promote their newest drink called Blue Eden. But when the partygoers drank the new drink, some of them blacked out.

The next morning, five of the partygoers woke up on the beach as all of the other people had already left. They found themselves following a drone to a community that welcomed them and allowed them to feel at home in a place they called Eden. This was where the story got interesting as the characters began to wonder what this island community was all about and whether or not they could leave the island to go back home.

Due to how easy it is to watch, Welcome to Eden won’t take too long for anyone to finish, as some people might have binged through it in a day or two. That has led them to wonder whether or not there will be a second season, considering that the ending of the first season opened up a possible future for the series. So, when will season 2 of Welcome to Eden be released?

As of this writing, Welcome to Eden is yet to be renewed by Netflix. The series had just premiered during the first week of May 2022, and that means that it hasn’t had enough time to truly prove itself worth a second season.

In most cases, Netflix gives a grace period of around 28 days before deciding whether or not to renew a series based on how much traffic it received after getting released. In that case, it is too early for Netflix to decide on the future of Welcome to Eden. There have been some exceptions in the past, especially when those shows were able to exceed expectations in just a few days. But that might not be the case for Welcome to Eden, which isn’t entirely as popular as some of the other originals like Stranger Things or Squid Game.

Nevertheless, Welcome to Eden seems to be quite a fun show for a lot of different people because it has reached the top ten in different countries all over the world. That means that it probably has garnered enough traffic for Netflix to decide on its future in the coming weeks. And if Netflix were to renew Welcome to Eden, season 2 might come as early as May of 2023 or during the middle portion of 2023.

Welcome To Eden Season 2 Trailer

It might take a few months after production has begun for the trailer of season 2 of Welcome to Eden to be released. And we’ll keep you updated regarding the trailer.

If indeed season 2 of Welcome to Eden will get the green light from Netflix, we can expect the following to return and reprise their roles:

  • Amaia Aberasturi (Zoa)
  • Amaia Salamanca (Astrid), Belinda Peregrín (África)
  • Diego Garisa (Ibón)
  • Tomy Aguilera (Charly)
  • Berta Castañé (Gaby)
  • Max Sampietro (Isaac)
  • Lola Rodríguez (Mayka)
  • Guillermo Pfening (Erick)
  • Begoña Vargas (Bel)
  • Sergio Momo (Nico)
  • Irene Dev (Alma)
  • Joan Pedrola (Orson)
  • Carlos Soroa (Eloy).

Meanwhile, Judith (Ana Mena), Aldo (Albert Baró), Ulises (Alex Pastrana), David (Jason Fernández), and Claudia (Berta Vazquez) died during the first season. That means that these characters won’t return. It is also possible that new characters will eventually be introduced into the series.

Welcome To Eden Season 2 Plot

Right now, anything can happen regarding the possible plot of the second season of Welcome to Eden, if ever it will indeed see a release in the future. Of course, while we don’t know for certain what will happen in season 2, we can make a few assumptions regarding its possible plot by looking at how season 1 ended.

In the season 1 finale of Welcome to Eden, we saw that Zoe and Charly were attempting to escape the island by using the next batch of recruits as a distraction. However, the new recruits didn’t know what they got themselves into when they were about to disembark their boat to party on the island.

When Charly made it onto the boat, Ulises caught Zoa as he proceeded to attack her for her attempt to leave the island. Ibón managed to catch up to them as he ended up killing Ulises to save Zoa from her attacker. In that regard, the event might scar Ibón for life, considering that he isn’t an aggressive person and that he isn’t someone who would hurt anyone. Season 2 might address how this event will change him.

Meanwhile, África, who wanted to stay on the island, found a secret room in Astrid and Erick’s home. This room had a lot of technological stuff that she didn’t understand, and this prompted her to press a button on the panel. The button activated a satellite that sent a signal to outer space as alarms started to go off. África got trapped inside the room when the doors shut on her.

But the ultimate twist came when Zoa was just about to reach the boat that would take her home. However, she saw that her sister, Gaby, was about to disembark on the island as well. Considering that Gaby was the reason why she wanted to go home because she was the only person that her younger sister had in the world, this might present a difficult situation for Zoa.

Throughout the entire season, we saw how Gaby was determined to find her older sister, who she knew would never abandon her. She did all she could to get invited to the island as she raised her social media status in the hopes of finding her sister on Eden.

In that regard, the interesting part here is whether or not Zoa will stay on the island to prevent her sister from getting trapped on it. The second season might answer these questions, especially in relation to what will eventually happen to Zoa, who attempted to leave the island and is now in the middle of a difficult situation.

Will There Be A Season 3 Of Welcome To Eden?

As of this writing, it is tough to say whether or not there will be a third season of Welcome to Eden. That’s because season 2 is yet to be renewed, and that means that season 3 is the least of the showrunners’ concerns.

Of course, the possibility of a third season rests solely on the performance of a possible second season for Welcome to Eden. If season 2 of Welcome to Eden performs well enough and still leaves enough room for more seasons, then that is when a third season will become a possibility for this Spanish series.
