What Consoles Will Jedi: Fallen Order 2 Be On?

What Consoles Will Jedi: Fallen Order 2 Be On?

One of the best Star Wars games released in recent memory is Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which forms part of the Star Wars canon and is able to portray the story of Cal Kestis, one of the few remaining Jedi left in the galaxy. The game was so successful that it garnered critical praise from critics and gamers alike. And due to the success of the first game, it was announced that there would be a sequel game. So, what consoles will Jedi: Fallen Order 2 be on?

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 is most likely going to be on Windows PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. Like the first game, it will most likely be on all of the three main consoles or systems for gaming. However, because it is launching some time late in 2022 or 2023, it might not be on the PS4 and Xbox One.

Even though EA has been struggling to deliver great Star Wars games before Fallen Order, they hit the ball out of the park with this game. As such, a sequel was a pretty obvious decision on their part, as EA is looking to continue the canon story of Cal Kestis with Fallen Order 2. And this will allow us to see how he fits in the entire canon narrative of Star Wars.

Will Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 Be On PC?

Released on November 15, 2019, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order became one of the best Star Wars games in recent memory because of its narrative-based approach. Of course, everyone loves a good Star Wars game that focuses on an entirely new story and a new Jedi character that forms part of the entire canon.

When it was released in 2019, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was immediately available on Microsoft Windows PC as one of the three consoles it was released on. That means that it was not meant to be a console-exclusive game. In fact, EA, the publisher of the game, rarely publishes games that are console-exclusive.

With that said, the likelihood of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 to be available on Microsoft Windows PC is also very high, as the original game was available on the PC on its release date. Of course, EA is yet to make any announcements regarding the systems that Jedi: Fallen Order 2 will be available on, but it is quite rare for games to be available on one system and will become a system-exclusive game in its sequel.

Will Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 Be On PS4/PS5?

Jedi: Fallen Order

During its November 15, 2019 release date, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was also immediately available for PlayStation gamers on the PS4. The PS4 was one of the three systems that Jedi: Fallen Order was released on.

Considering that the first game was available on the PS4, there is a strong chance that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 will be available for PlayStation gamers again. However, the bad news here is that there is also a good chance that the game will only be available on the PS5 and will not be available on the PS4.

The reason why there is a chance that Jedi: Fallen Order 2 will only be available on the PS5 for console gamers is that, unless the game is a sports game, EA has a good history of releasing its games as next-gen console exclusives just a few years after the release of the newer consoles. This is true even if the older consoles were still very much alive and widely in use. And we know that Jedi: Fallen Order 2 will likely come out late in 2022 or in the middle of 2023 when more people already have next-gen consoles like the PS5.

Of course, the good part about making Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 available on the PS5 and not on the PS4 is that the game will not be bottlenecked and dialed down to fit the capabilities of the PS4. No one wants to see the same kind of debacle that happened with Cyberpunk 2077, which had plenty of bugs and issues on the base PS4 because it was made for the PS4 Pro and the PS5, among other consoles.

As such, focusing the development of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 based on the PS5’s capabilities will allow the developers plenty of leeway to work with in relation to the game’s performance and graphical capabilities.

Will Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 Be On Xbox One/Series X?

Usually, when the game is available on Windows, it is also available on the Xbox. Vice versa also applies, as Xbox games are usually available on Windows as well because they are owned by the same parent company.

This was the case with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order when it was made to be available on both the Xbox One and the PC during its release. As such, the Microsoft Xbox One was the third console that Jedi: Fallen Order could be played on.

Considering that Jedi: Fallen Order 2 is likely going to be on the PC and that the first game was available on the Xbox One, there is a good chance that the sequel game is going to be on the Xbox as well.

However, there is also a good chance that the developers will only be making it available on the Xbox Series X/S due to the very same reasons why it is likely going to be available only for the PS5 and not the PS4. EA has a history of focusing on next-gen consoles with its game, and that could be the same case with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which might see performance and gameplay issues if the developers were to dial it down for the older consoles.

Wil Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 Be On Nintendo Switch?

Even though the Nintendo Switch does have its fair share of Star Wars games, there is almost no chance that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 will be available on this system. And the reason could be similar to why the first game was not available on the Switch, as this console doesn’t have the power and capacity to handle this game.

Probably the only chance that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 will be available on the Switch is through cloud gaming. This was done with Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, which was made available to the Nintendo Switch through cloud-based gaming, as the Switch did not have the power to run the system natively.

Meanwhile, if there is a newer Nintendo console releasing right at the time of the release of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2, there might be a good chance that Nintendo will be able to have a console that’s powerful enough to handle the demands of this game.
