What Did Jen Mean When She Said “Save It for the Movie” in She-Hulk? Is a New Hulk Movie on the Way?

The She-Hulk: Attorney at Law finale did not only break the fourth wall, but it smashed it entirely because Jen actually came out of her own show and went to Marvel Studios to confront K.E.V.I.N., an A.I. that processes different data and information to create various storylines for MCU movies and series. Jen wanted to change the fact that the Hulk came out of nowhere to save the day, but K.E.V.I.N. told her that Bruce was supposed to be there to introduce something. Jen cut it short by telling K.E.V.I.N. to “save it for the movie.” So, what did She-Hulk mean when she said, “save it for the movie?”

It is possible that Jen told K.E.V.I.N. to “save it for the movie” because there is an upcoming Hulk standalone movie that actually stars the Hulk and the other members of the Hulk family. In that regard, this was probably a teaser for what was to come in the future for the Hulk in the MCU.

This is incredibly interesting to look at, especially because of the rumors that Marvel Studios will soon regain the distribution rights of the Hulk in 2023. In that regard, there is a good chance that the Hulk will get another movie in the future when Universal loses the distribution rights of the Hulk. So, with that said, let’s look at what Jen meant when she said, “save it for the movie.”

What Did Jen Mean When She Said “Save It For The Movie?”

Episode 9 of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is the finale that looked to wrap up season 1 of Jen Walters’s life as a budding superhero lawyer. Leading up to episode 8, it did look like she had finally learned how to combine her life as Jen Walters, the lawyer, and as She-Hulk, the superhero. However, Intelligencia was able to mess with her head to make her look like the bad guy in front of the media.

As such, the finale opened up with Jen in maximum security because the authorities saw her as a rampaging Hulk that could cause harm to the public if she lost control over her anger once more. But Mallory Book was able to get her out of prison with no charges on the grounds that she could never transform again by wearing an inhibitor. She was also fired from her job at GLK&H due to the incident with Intelligencia.

Thanks to some snooping from Nikki and Pug, they were able to find who was behind Intelligencia, and it happened to be the creepy Todd Phelps, who seemed to be obsessed with She-Hulk. And Jen inadvertently found out about this because she went to Emil Blonsky’s retreat, where the members of Intelligencia actually met up with one another.

However, Jen didn’t like the way the story went when she got to the retreat. That’s because Todd said that he was able to acquire her blood and used it to create a serum that could give him Hulk powers. Abomination, who was completely in control of himself, suddenly found himself fighting with Bruce, who swooped in from out of nowhere. And out came Titania, who beat the crap out of the incel members of Intelligencia.

Jen didn’t understand what was happening, and that forced her to not only break the fourth wall but completely smash it. She was able to find her way out of her own Disney+ series to make it to the Marvel section on the Disney+ website so that she could make her way to Marvel Studios, where she met the showrunners of the series. They merely told her that the decision was all up to K.E.V.I.N., who they revered as a god.

As such, Jen proceeded to go to some guy she thought was named Kevin, and she broke through Marvel Studios’ security to do so. This brought her to a room where she met K.E.V.I.N., which is short for Knowledge Enhanced Visual Interconnectivity Nexus. Yes, we all thought that she was actually going to have a word with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige himself, but she ended up meeting an A.I. that was responsible for coming up with the different scenarios in the MCU.

Jen convinced K.E.V.I.N. to change the ending to season 1 of her series because it was all about her journey. She told the A.I. to remove Bruce from the equation. But K.E.V.I.N. said that Bruce was important in that scene because his appearance was supposed to introduce something. That was when Jen cut the A.I. short and told it to “save it for the movie.” So, what did Jen mean when she said, “save it for the movie?”

At first, people might think that it’s about a She-Hulk movie, but that wasn’t the case. That’s because, after resolving the ending of the season, K.E.V.I.N. told Jen to go back to her series while saying, “see you on the big screen.” Jen asked him, “really?” as she probably thought that she was getting her own movie. But the A.I. brushed that thought off and basically told her that she was not getting a movie.

In that regard, the possibility is that the movie that Jen was talking about is a planned Hulk movie that will not only star Bruce Banner for the first time in a standalone movie but also the rest of the Hulk family. And this was reinforced when, at the end of the season, Bruce joined up with Jen’s family to introduce Skaar, his son from Sakaar.

Is There Going To Be A New Hulk Movie?

The possibility of a new Hulk movie happening is actually quite high. This is a surprise to a lot of people because, even though Hulk is incredibly (pun intended) popular and is one of the original Avengers, he hasn’t had a standalone movie since the 2008 film that starred Edward Norton instead of Mark Ruffalo.

But the reason why there hasn’t been a Hulk movie in the MCU since 2008 is the fact that Universal retained the distribution rights over the Hulk even after dropping the film adaptation rights for the character after the company failed to come up with a sequel to the 2003 Hulk movie. Universal’s distribution rights allowed it to decide how to distribute the Hulk movie, even though Marvel Studios had the licensing rights to the character. As such, Disney and Marvel Studios didn’t want to bother with any arrangement that didn’t allow them to control how to distribute a Hulk movie.

However, there are rumors about Universal’s distribution agreement with the Hulk ending in 2023. This means that the distribution rights will revert back to Marvel Studios once the contract is done. And that means that Marvel Studios can now produce a Hulk movie without any impediment to the distribution of the film.

That is probably what Jen meant when she said, “save it for the movie,” as she was probably referring to the possibility of Marvel Studios developing a movie for the Hulk and probably even the entire Hulk family. This is where fans of the Hulk could now hope that the next Hulk movie would be the incredibly popular World War Hulk storyline in the comics.
