Death Note is without a question one of the most talked-about anime in the world, although the manga series concluded in 2006. This is the same year when the show premiered under the same name in October. Netflix made the anime even more popular by releasing a live-action adaption of Death Note under their production, which further established the place that Death Note has even outside anime fandom.

The anime fandom fell in love wit the story about Light Yagami and enjoyed following the main protagonist turned antagonist with the help of Ryuk. Yagami’s dual ethics was perhaps one of the reasons why the show reached the peak of popularity and is still discussed and watched years after the show ended.

Death Note short stories are also announced to be released in the summer of 2022, while we are still waiting for the exact release date of the spin-off series. The series will be based on the compilation book by original creators of manga, Takeshi Obata and Tsugumi Ohba. The series will be exploring the universe of Death Note even though the story is over for Light Yagami and Kira.
