Much has already been written about the Star Wars franchise in terms of the side stories that were already there prior to the Disney acquisition of the franchise. While Disney effectively reset the entire franchise after the events of Episode VI, it was never a secret that the characters from the Legends side of Star Wars could become canon if they were to be introduced in a series like The Book of Boba Fett. One such character could possibly be Arden Lyn. But who is Arden Lyn, and is she in The Book of Boba Fett?
Arden Lyn is a Dark Jedi who lived way before the time of the present Star Wars franchise and was once a member of the Jedi Order during the early days of the Galactic Republic. However, she isn’t going to be in The Book of Boba Fett despite the speculations that fans have about the brunette in the series trailer.
Despite the fact that Arden Lyn isn’t in The Book of Boba Fett, it would be nice for her to become canon, especially because the entire Star Wars universe is so vast when it comes to how many storylines it has. Arden Lyn, who lived thousands of years before the rise of the Empire, might be someone we will see somewhere down the line. However, as of now, she won’t be in The Book of Boba Fett.
Who Is Arden Lyn?
One of the things that you should know about the Star Wars franchise is that there have been plenty of different stories that were written about it even before Disney acquired the rights to the entire galaxy. While we do know that there are characters who were introduced to the Star Wars universe after the fall of the Empire in Return of the Jedi, there have been plenty of stories regarding the galaxy thousands of years before the main timeline of events.
However, most of these stories became part of the Star Wars Legends ever since Disney acquired the rights to the franchise. Still, as long as Disney is willing to introduce the characters in the different stories to the new canon, they will also become part of the new canon. One such character that fans of the Legends love is Arden Lyn. But who is Arden Lyn?
Arden Lyn is a female human member of the Jedi Order nearly 25,000 years before the events of the main Star Wars franchise. That means that she lived during the early days of the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order itself. Lyn is also a member of the Followers of Palawa.
However, Arden Lyn fell to the dark side and became a part of the group that waged war against the Jedi Order. In the final battle of that war against the Jedi, Arden Lyn’s heart was stopped, but she ended up surviving by falling into a Force trance and thanks to the effects of the artifact called the Kashi Mer talisman. Years later, some unidentified group found Lyn’s body and enclosed it in a tomb.
Who Awakened Arden Lyn?
Even though Arden Lyn’s body decomposed due to the effects of time throughout the time that she was in a Force trance, she was still alive as far as her soul was concerned. However, 25,000 years later, during the Empire’s reign, a group of scouts in the Unknown Regions found her body and the Kashi Mer talisman.
By taking the talisman close to the body, the scouts were able to revive Arden Lyn, whose body suddenly rejuvenated. Not knowing what had happened 25,000 years ago and how many years have passed since her “death”, Arden Lyn attacked the scouts. A few years later, the Inquisitors or the Jedi hunters started attacking Arden Lyn, believing that she was a remnant of the fallen Jedi Order.
Is Arden Lyn A Sith?
As mentioned, Arden Lyn used to be a member of the Jedi Order but ended up falling to the dark side of the Force. However, despite the fact that she did embrace the dark side, she is not a part of the Sith Order.
The reason why Arden Lyn cannot be called a member of the Sith Order is due to the fact that the Sith only started about 5,000 years before the current timeline of events in the Star Wars canon. Meanwhile, Arden Lyn lived nearly 20,000 years before the establishment of the Sith Order.
But while Arden Lyn isn’t a Sith, she is nevertheless a follower of the dark side of the Force. Still, due to how she lived thousands of years before the Sith, she can only be considered a dark Jedi.
Is Arden Lyn In ‘The Book Of Boba Fett’?
Now that you know more about Arden Lyn, you are probably wondering how someone who lived 25,000 years before the events of The Book of Boba Fett is speculated to make an appearance in that series. That’s because, in the trailer for The Book of Boba Fett, there is a brunette that resembles the description of Arden Lyn’s physical appearance in the Legends. So, is Arden Lyn in The Book of Boba Fett?
While it might be interesting for someone from the Legends to become canon, Arden Lyn is not going to be The Book of Boba Fett, as far as we are currently concerned. That brunette in the trailer is actually a new character named Dratch. We are yet to learn more about Dratch but what we are sure of as of now is that she is not Arden Lyn. Still, we can only hope that Arden Lyn will soon be introduced to the Star Wars canon.
Who Is The Actress Playing The Brunette In The Trailer?
The reason why we were able to confirm that the brunette in the trailer is not Arden Lyn is that this brunette is played by Sophie Thatcher, according to Slash Film, who reports that Thatcher will be playing a character named Dratch. As such, Sophie Thatcher will not be playing Arden Lyn, who we might not even see in The Book of Boba Fett.
What Is Arden Lyn’s Destiny?
Even though Arden Lyn may not show up in The Book of Boba Fett, it is still interesting to talk more about her destiny and fate in the Legends stories of Star Wars because of how there is a possibility that she can still become part of the canon.
As mentioned, Arden Lyn was revived during the time of the Galactic Empire and prior to its fall in Return of the Jedi. However, when Darth Sidious was revived through the use of clones (something we saw in the new canon), the former Emperor Palpatine ultimately killed Arden Lyn in a conclusive manner.
