It looks like Marve Studios is finally close to giving us a long-awaited solo Hulk movie! And it won’t be any Hulk adaptation, but if it is to be believed the rumors, we could be getting a World War Hulk live-action adaptation!
Mark Ruffalo should be returning as a Jade Giant in this adaptation, and if this rumor becomes a reality, we could be seeing a World War Hulk movie in either Phase 4 or 5 in the MCU.
Geeks WorldWide shared this amazing rumor that MCU’s World War Hulk will begin production in 2022 and possibly be ready for a release in 2023 or 2024.
One of the major reasons why Marvel Studios didn’t already make a Hulk movie was the character’s rights. Universal Pictures holds the rights for any Hulk movie, with the last one, The Incredible Hulk, coming out in 2008.
Until now, if Marvel Studios were to work on any Hulk movie, they would have to share profits with Universal. But if this rumor becomes a reality, it probably means that Universal has lost its rights on the Hulk character and that they have returned to Marvel. Or, they have made some kind of deal that works for both studios.
Marvel’s World War Hulk storyline continues after Planet Hulk, in which we saw the titular character heading out in space. He wasn’t sent there by Illuminati (Black Bolt, Tony Stark, Doctor Strange, and Reed Richards). The spacecraft used to send him and his pregnant wife in space explodes, killing her and the baby in the process. Blaming the Illuminati for her death, and more powerful than ever because of his time spent absorbing the radiation levels on Planet Sakaar, Hulk returns to Earth for revenge with his allies, the Warbound: Hiroim, Korg, Elloe Kaifi, Miek, No-Name of the Brood, Arch-E-5912, and Mung.
In the process, he defeats almost all Earth Heroes in one of his strongest forms ever to be shown in the comics. Hulk fans wait for a long, long time to see this adaptation in the live-action.
We really hope this rumor is true because we deserve to see the real Hulk in the MCU and his long-deserved solo real MCU movie.
