XYZ Films Strikes Deal for ‘Skyline: Warpath’ Featuring Iko Uwais and Scott Adkins
XYZ Films has just scooped up the US distribution rights for ‘SKYLINE: WARPATH.’ This sci-fi action film, packed with martial arts, is a fresh creation from Liam O’Donnell, known for his work on ‘Beyond Skyline.’ The film shines with stars like Iko Uwais from ‘The Raid’ and Scott Adkins of ‘Undisputed’ fame. Joining them are Louis Mandylor, Randall J. Bacon, and Yayan Ruhain.
‘SKYLINE: WARPATH’ is set in the same universe as O’Donnell’s previous work and takes place five years after ‘BEYOND SKYLINE.’ The story revolves around Sua, played by Iko Uwais, leading a resistance against alien invaders. Things heat up with the discovery of the Radial Gauntlet, an alien artifact. Sua faces challenges from the corrupt Eric, portrayed by Scott Adkins, and a relentless alien army.
This film marks another collaboration between Uwais and XYZ Films. Their past projects include the global hit ‘THE RAID’ and the sci-fi action film ‘ASH,’ directed by Flying Lotus. It’s a partnership that’s brought some exciting movies to the screen, and ‘SKYLINE: WARPATH’ is set to be another thrilling addition.
The deal was nailed down by Matthew Chausse for the filmmakers and Maxime Cottray representing XYZ Films. It’s a significant move for XYZ Films, which has a history of backing unique and gripping titles. Their past successes include the ‘THE RAID’ franchise, ‘MANDY’, and ‘I DON’T FEEL AT HOME IN THIS WORLD ANYMORE’.
Liam O’Donnell expresses his excitement about this project, especially about creating a star vehicle for Iko Uwais alongside Scott Adkins. It’s a dream come true for him, blending Uwais’s martial arts prowess with Adkins’ action chops.
XYZ Films’ current lineup is impressive. It includes titles like ‘BLACKBERRY’, ‘SEVEN VEILS’, ‘ASH’, ‘BACKSPOT’, and the Netflix Original ‘HAVOC’.
