Popular YouTuber IShowSpeed recently shared some exciting news during a YouTube livestream. He announced that he had spoken with a producer from the anime series One Piece, who supposedly gave him the green light to stream every episode of the show on his channel without worrying about copyright problems.

In his own words, Speed said:

I met the producer of one piece. Guess what she said? Guess what the producer of one piece said, y’all? She said she will let me stream all she will whitelist my channel for me to stream all the One Piece episodes on my channel.

This kind of permission is quite rare, especially since anime production companies like Toei Animation are known for being very strict with their content.

What makes this even more surprising is that, according to Speed, no other streamer or content creator has ever received such privileges. He emphasized, ‘Nobody has never gotten that. No YouTuber, streamer, Twitch or whatever.‘ Here’s the whole video:

However, there hasn’t been any official statement from Toei Animation or the One Piece production team to confirm this arrangement, so we should take this with a grain of salt.

IShowSpeed also opened up about how One Piece had a deeply personal impact on him. During a stream with Kai Cenat, he shared that watching One Piece on Netflix during the 2020 quarantine helped him through a tough time when he was feeling depressed. He said, ‘Luffy saved my life. I was depressed… My whole life changed.’
