12-Year-Old Boy Tragically Dies Recreating ‘Squid Game’ Scene
A 12-year-old boy from West Yorkshire has died after attempting to copy a scene from the hit Netflix series Squid Game.
Sebastian Cizman, from Glasshoughton, was found by his cousin at home in June, lying on the stairs with a sheet around his neck. Paramedics rushed to the scene but were unable to save him, and he was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
According to an inquest, Sebastian enjoyed pranks and often pretended to be unconscious while joking with friends.

He had shared an image from Squid Game on WhatsApp on the day of his death, showing a character in a deadly scene similar to what he tried to recreate. Investigators also found a YouTube search he had made on “surviving choking alone.”
His family said Sebastian was a happy, well-liked boy with no known mental health issues. They had previously spoken to him about the dangers of online challenges but believed he would not take part in them. Police confirmed there was no evidence he had been exploring risky content on TikTok.
Sebastian’s death is being treated as a tragic accident. This story is a heartbreaking reminder of how children can imitate things they see on TV without fully understanding the risks. Parents, educators, and platforms need to be aware of how violent or risky content can influence young minds.
