A classic PlayStation 2 game from 2007 looks set to return on modern consoles. Tomb Raider: Anniversary, a remake of the original PS1 Tomb Raider, appears to be coming to PS5 and PS4 after a recent leak.

The news came from True Trophies, which spotted a new trophy listing for the game on PlayStation servers.

While neither Sony nor Eidos has officially confirmed the release yet, the trophy information strongly suggests the game is on its way.

Tomb Raider: Anniversary originally launched on PS2 and quickly became popular with fans. It was later ported to multiple platforms, including PSP and PS3. Bringing it to PS5 and PS4 would continue Sony’s recent trend of reviving classic PS2 titles.

In recent years, games like Sly Cooper, TimeSplitters, and Ape Escape have all been re-released for current PlayStation consoles, with more titles expected to follow.

Given how similar re-releases have been handled, it’s likely that Anniversary will be added to PlayStation Plus as part of the “Classics” lineup.

For example, Tomb Raider: Legend was brought to PS5 and PS4 in 2024 in the same way. Based on the timing of this leak, fans might expect Tomb Raider: Anniversary to arrive on PS Plus sometime in October 2025.

It’s exciting to see a beloved classic making a comeback for new audiences and longtime fans alike. What do you think about Tomb Raider: Anniversary coming to modern consoles? Share your thoughts in the comments.
