6 MCU Stars Pick Their Favorite Marvel Movies of All Time

The MCU now boasts a total of 35 films, covering a wide range of themes and genres—meaning there’s something for everyone. As fans, we all have our personal favorites, and it turns out the MCU stars do too. In the Spring 2025 issue of Disney twenty-three, several notable actors shared their favorite Marvel movies. Let’s take a look at what they had to say.

Iman Vellani

Vellani is a die-hard Marvel fan, and her passion for the franchise runs deep. “I love Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Endgame, and Thor: Ragnarok,” she says. Growing up, she rewatched the entire MCU in chronological order before each new release and even wrote school essays about it. “I’ve painted my nails like different Avengers, made theory boards, and even lost friendships over Team Cap vs. Team Iron Man debates,” she laughs. “But in the end, Iron Man is my favorite. He’s the reason I fell in love with the MCU.”

Paul Rudd

Rudd has enjoyed every Marvel film but admits he has a couple of standout favorites. “I really do love all the Marvel movies—and not just because Kevin Feige has my phone number!” he jokes. “But if I had to pick, Thor: Ragnarok and Captain America: The Winter Soldier are at the top of my list.”

Natalie Portman

For Portman, one Marvel movie stands above the rest. “I absolutely love Thor: Ragnarok,” she says. “It’s just a movie that keeps you smiling the entire time.”

Simu Liu

Liu finds it impossible to choose just one favorite. “It’s like asking me to pick my favorite ice cream flavor,” he says. “It’s all good! But if I had to choose, Black Panther, Captain America: Civil War, Thor: Ragnarok, and Avengers: Endgame are my absolute favorites.”

Shira Haas

Haas has a special place in her heart for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. “That one really moved me,” she shares. “The first time I watched it, I felt every emotion possible. It’s my number one favorite. Avengers: Endgame is a close second because of how iconic it is.”

Xochitl Gomez

Gomez loves Spider-Man, but her favorite character isn’t the web-slinger himself—it’s MJ. “I really like MJ from the Spider-Man movies,” she says. “Zendaya plays her so well, and I’m a huge fan of hers. MJ might not have superpowers, but I love how she fits into the story.”
