‘Romantic Killer’ Ending, Explained: Does Anzu Find True Love?
Welcome to the Ending Explained for Romantic Killer, the latest anime series to find its way onto Netflix‘s roster. The series is an adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Wataru Momose. The series follows the adventures of Anzu Hoshino, a girl who has found happiness by playing video games, eating chocolate, and having a cat. However, when the wizard, Riri, appears in her life, things get turned on their heads when he transforms Anzu’s world into a dating simulator, so she can find the love life she has ignored for so long.
At first sight, Romantic Killer isn’t much different than other romantic anime out there. The series stands out thanks to its characters. For example, Anzu might look like any other pixie girl out there, but in reality, she is quite her own person, with her own interests, and she is content with that. When she is pushed into adhering to social conventions, that is when things start becoming difficult for them. The series also boasts solid animation, and it also has a very good implementation of CGI graphics.

Does Kishi Manage To Hurt Anzu?
The series starts by introducing us to the main protagonist, Anzu. She is a high schooler that is very much content with playing video games, eating chocolate, and having a cat. Anzu, unlike other girls at her school, has wasted no time in romantic relationships. She very much doesn’t care about having a boyfriend. However, a magical being, named Riri, appears and forces her to pay attention to her romantic life. From there, Riri creates very elaborate setups, so he can set up Anzu with boys such as Kazuki, one of the most popular guys in high school.

However, things are not as easy as they look. Anzu is quite smart, and she manages to find ways to circumvent Riri’s efforts. Nevertheless, Anzu does manage to establish a relationship with Kazuki, and Junta, through Riri’s efforts, but nothing romantic has ended up happening. Riri is frustrated, but little by little he also manages to become friends with Anzu. Things also take a darker turn when we find out that Kazuki has a stalker, a woman named Kishi. Kazuki met Kishi in almost the same way as he met Anzu, by accident. However, Kishi becomes obsessed with him in unhealthy ways.
Kishi manages to track Anzu, seeing that Kazuki and her spend a lot of time together. She sees Anzu has an obstacle, and she will get rid of it no matter what. Kishi manages to put Anzu in a corner and uses a knife to attack her. Anzu gets hurt in her forehead and starts bleeding a lot. The rest of the characters have been looking for Anzu for a while, but it is Kazuki who finds her first and throws herself against Kishi to stop her from hurting Anzu. Kishi doesn’t understand why Kazuki could do something like this when they are supposed to be together.
Does Anzu Find True Love?
Kishi is taken by the police and Anzu is taken to the hospital to take care of her wounds. Everyone was really scared, but time passed. However, we see Riri appear inside Kishi’s cell, and he uses some kind of magic on her. Later, it is revealed that Kishi has lost all her memories from a couple of years ago. Which means that she doesn’t remember Kazuki or Anzu. Anzu’s mother comes back from abroad, and she is worried that Anzu might be left with a scar on her face. No man would like Anzu like that.
She is wrong, of course, as both Kazuki and Junta are very much in love with Anzu. We see a lot of events from Kazuki perspective, and we see that Anzu always managed to help him during his dark times. Anzu looks for Riri everywhere, but the magician is nowhere to be seen. In his place, another magician appears, one named Kate. She reveals that Riri broke a taboo in their society and used her magic for more than just relationship-related things. Because of it, he will spend the rest of his life working in a dungeon.

Also, Kate forgot her illusion spell, and so Kazuki and Junta managed to see her. The truth is revealed to the boys, and they make sense of all the strange happenings that have occurred lately. Anzu forces Kate to summon Riri, or she will stain her magic wand with poop. Kate gives up and summons Riri. Anzu and the boys thank him because, without him, they wouldn’t have met and lived all those experiences. Anzu also manages to circumvent Riri’s punishment and allows him to stay with her, as he has 0.00001% of being a romantic interest. Kate has no other option but to comply.
The series ends as we see Kate being given a new case. The case in question is Kishi, who now resides in some hospital. Maybe even she can find true love someday.
