‘The Ancient Magus’ Bride’ Complete Watch Order
The Ancient Magus’ Bride is a fantasy shōnen manga by Kore Yamazaki. Wit Studio produced an OVA trilogy titled The Ancient Magus Bride: Those Awaiting a Star as a prequel to the series; the animation studio also made an animated television series that first aired between October 8, 2017, and March 25, 2018. Another three-part OVA series, The Ancient Magus’ Bride: The Boy From the West and the Knight of the Mountain Haze, aired from September 10, 2021, to September 10, 2022. On September 10, 2022, a second season was announced, which premiered on April 6, 2023, and concluded on December 21, 2023.
While we’re waiting for more seasons of the anime, we have decided to bring you a full and detailed watch order of the series, so you know your way around it, and you can actually know what to expect from the series once you decide to watch it.

How many The Ancient Magus’ Bride seasons and episodes are there?
As of the time of writing this article, there is one completed anime season of The Ancient Magus’ Bride, consisting of 24 episodes, two OVA series, each consisting of three episodes, and a second anime season with 24 episodes as well. So, as of the time of writing, there are a total of 48 episodes of The Ancient Magus’ Bride, spread through two anime seasons and two OVA series.

In what order should you watch The Ancient Magus’ Bride?
The Ancient Magus’ Bride fans will need to start off with the very first OVA season of The Ancient Magus’ Bride to begin the story, following through in the episode’s numerical progression until the season’s conclusion. They can then continue with the first anime season, and after they’re done, they can move on to the second OVA series. Finally, they can begin the ongoing second season once they finish that.

Where to watch The Ancient Magus’ Bride episodes?
The only place where you can watch The Ancient Magus’ Bride regularly is Crunchyroll. Crunchyroll offers the series regularly through simulcast, but you’ll have to watch it in Japanese, with English subtitles. Other streaming services might also offer The Ancient Magus’ Bride, but the episodes are not updated regularly, so you won’t be able to watch the latest ones. Also, do remember that Crunchyroll does not offer The Ancient Magus’ Bride episodes in every region of the world.
Will there be more The Ancient Magus’ Bride episodes?
As of the time of writing, it is now known whether there will be more episodes and seasons of The Ancient Magus’ Bride. The second season finished on December 21, 2023 and so far there hasn’t been any news regarding season 3. Seeing how popular the manga is and how well-received the series has been, we can be hopeful, as such series – especially with a great plot and characters – usually get renewed, so it is highly likely that an identical fate awaits The Ancient Magus’ Bride as well. Still, we’ll just have to wait and see if we can confirm a second season soon.
