Twilight Sparkle and her friends attend a royal summit in the Crystal Empire after her coronation as a princess. Sunset Shimmer, a former student, steals Twilight’s crown containing the Element of Magic through a mirror portal, leading to a chase. The other princesses reveal that the portal connects to an alternate world, tasking Twilight with retrieving the crown before it closes, and despite being told to travel alone, Spike follows her.
2. ‘Rainbow Rocks’ prelude shorts + ‘Rainbow Rocks’ movies + ‘Rainbow Rocks’ encore shorts

Reformed bully Sunset Shimmer faces ostracism at Canterlot High School despite her attempts at redemption. The girls realize that the magic from Twilight Sparkle’s crown grants them pony-like features when playing their instruments.
