New Superhero to Debut in ‘The Boys’ Season 5 and ‘Vought Rising,’ According to Casting Details
A few weeks ago, it was announced that The Boys universe will significantly expand in the coming years. Fans can anticipate The Boys Season 5 — the series’ final season, Gen V Season 2, The Boys: Mexico, and the highly anticipated 1950s prequel spinoff, Vought Rising.
As for Vought Rising, only two cast members have been confirmed so far: Jensen Ackles, returning as Soldier Boy, and Aya Cash, reprising her role as Stormfront.
Paul Grellong, executive producer of The Boys, will take on the role of showrunner, with Eric Kripke and the core creative team from The Boys franchise also contributing. The list of executive producers includes Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and several others.
While details about the upcoming prequels are limited, new casting information from Nexus Point News suggests a significant new superhero is set to appear in both Vought Rising and The Boys Season 5.
Flyboy, a white male in his 20s to 30s, is described as a former charismatic combat pilot turned junkie with a dark past. Despite his traumatic experiences, he remains confident and captivating in front of cameras, drawing admiration from the public, especially women.
Currently, Flyboy appears to be an original character created for the TV series, much like Firecracker and Sister Sage were for Season 4 of The Boys.
Given the 70-year time difference between the events of The Boys and its prequel Vought Rising, set in the 1950s, Flyboy may have slowed aging, similar to Soldier Boy and Stormfront, who are expected to lead the new series. Due to their shared military backgrounds, Flyboy and Soldier Boy likely have a history that could be explored in Vought Rising.
We may see a brief hint of the relationship between Soldier Boy and Flyboy in the final season of The Boys, with their backstory further developed in the prequel.
The release date for Vought Rising has not yet been announced. Have thoughts to share? Drop them in the comments below!
