Star Wars Reveals Massive New Map to Explore the Entire Galaxy
The official Star Wars website has released an updated map of the entire galaxy, including many new places from recent shows and books. This version builds on an earlier map created in 2009 for Star Wars: The Essential Atlas.
Now, fans can explore worlds featured in Andor, The Bad Batch, and the Thrawn novels, among others.
The map includes planets like Narkina and Pabu, plus locations from the Chiss Ascendancy.
Along with the map, there’s a complete list of star systems, showing where each one is found on the grid and which sector and region it belongs to. This makes it a valuable tool for writers, roleplayers, and anyone who loves diving deep into the Star Wars universe.
Jason Fry, one of the people who helped update the map, talked about it in a Substack post. He worked with DK designer Christopher Ibbit and others on the project. Fry said they plan to keep improving the map as new Star Wars stories come out. They might also create versions that focus on smaller areas of the galaxy, so fans can explore in more detail.

The interactive map lets you zoom in to see everything up close, but even just looking at the full map gives a sense of how vast the galaxy really is. It’s a reminder that places like Tatooine and Coruscant are far apart, making Luke Skywalker’s feeling of being stuck in the middle of nowhere much clearer. As Han Solo once said, “Kid, I’ve flown from one side of this galaxy to the other — I’ve seen a lot of strange stuff…” That line feels more real when you see the galaxy’s size.
The map also helps show how the Star Wars stories connect across this huge space. For example, Nemik’s manifesto from Andor spreads from a small rebel group to the heart of the Empire on Coruscant. The Clone Wars, the Rebellion, and the Resistance all took place across this vast galaxy, growing from small beginnings into large movements. And through it all, the Force connects everything.
It’s impressive how much a simple map can show about the scale and depth of Star Wars. The galaxy is huge and full of stories waiting to be told.
Personally, I think this updated map makes the Star Wars universe feel even more alive and exciting. It shows just how much space there is for new adventures and ideas. What do you think about this new galaxy map? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
