Bradley Cooper and Angela Sarafyan are joining the cast of James Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie, according to a report from Omelete. The two actors will play Superman’s Kryptonian parents, Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van. Their roles may be small, but they’re expected to appear in an important moment early in the film.

The scene reportedly takes place in the Fortress of Solitude. After Superman is hurt, robotic assistants will play a message from his parents in Kryptonian to help comfort him as he recovers.

It’s a quiet but emotional moment that gives some insight into Superman’s roots and the legacy of his home planet.

Angela Sarafyan is known for her roles in Westworld, The Immigrant, and Breaking Dawn – Part 2. Bradley Cooper has starred in films like A Star Is Born and American Sniper, but many fans also know him as the voice of Rocket Raccoon in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. He worked closely with James Gunn on those projects, and it seems like they’re teaming up again for this one.

In fact, Cooper is also voicing one of the robots in the Fortress of Solitude, joining a voice cast that includes Alan Tudyk, Pom Klementieff, and Michael Rooker.

Superman will be the first big-screen film in Gunn’s rebooted DC Universe. David Corenswet stars as the Man of Steel, with Rachel Brosnahan playing Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.

The story follows Clark Kent a few years into his life as both a superhero and a Daily Planet reporter. While details are still being kept under wraps, it’s clear the film will balance action, emotional depth, and a strong supporting cast.

Although Jor-El and Lara won’t have much screen time, their presence is expected to leave a strong impact. Cooper and Sarafyan likely won’t return often in future DC projects, as their characters are already long gone by the time this movie begins.

Still, given how James Gunn is handling the emotional side of Superman’s story, even brief scenes with his Kryptonian parents could be meaningful.

The movie is set to hit theaters on July 11, and fans are eager to see how this new take on Superman will feel compared to past versions. With a mix of familiar characters, new faces, and a deeper focus on Superman’s two families—both from Earth and Krypton—this film could offer something fresh.
