‘Stranger Things’ 5 Trailer Reveals Final Battle as Hawkins Faces Its End
The final season of “Stranger Things” is finally on the way, and fans now have their first look at what’s coming next. Netflix has just dropped the first teaser trailer for season 5, and it looks like Hawkins is heading for its biggest fight yet. This will be the end of the story that started back in 2016.
All the familiar faces are coming back. Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Joe Keery, Sadie Sink, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Maya Hawke, and Jamie Campbell Bower will all return. Some new faces are joining too, like Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, and Alex Breaux.
According to Netflix, this will be the final time we see this group together.
The teaser was revealed on Stranger Things Day. That’s the yearly celebration of the show, marking the date when the first episode happened, November 6, 1983. That first episode was called “The Vanishing of Will Byers.” Now, the new season, which is set in 1987, will include another mystery episode called “The Vanishing Of…” The full name wasn’t shown in the teaser.
Season 5 will have eight episodes, and their titles are already known. The episodes will be called: “The Crawl,” “The Vanishing Of…,” “The Turnbow Trap,” “Sorcerer,” “Shock Jock,” “Escape from Camazotz,” “The Bridge,” and the last one, “The Rightside Up.” That final episode will be the end of the whole series. According to Netflix’s Next on Netflix event, Ross Duffer said this season is “the biggest and most ambitious” yet. Something else exciting is that Frank Darabont, known for directing “The Shawshank Redemption,” came out of retirement after 11 years just to direct two episodes.
Netflix also shared the official story summary. It says that the season takes place in the fall of 1987. Hawkins is damaged after the Rifts opened, and the group of friends is now focused on one thing: finding and stopping Vecna.
But Vecna has disappeared, and nobody knows where he is or what he’s planning. Things get worse when the government locks down Hawkins with a military quarantine. They’re also hunting Eleven again, forcing her to hide. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance gets closer, the group feels a sense of fear creeping back. The end is coming, and they’ll all have to stand together if they want to stop the darkness once and for all.
“Stranger Things” was created by the Duffer Brothers and first came out in July 2016. It quickly became one of Netflix’s biggest shows. The fourth season alone had more than 140 million views around the world. Over the years, the show has picked up more than 70 awards, including Emmys and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Ensemble in a Drama. It’s also been nominated for over 230 awards.
Netflix has confirmed when the last season will be released. Volume 1 of Season 5 will arrive on November 26. Volume 2 will come out on Christmas Day. The very last episode, the finale, will stream on New Year’s Eve.
