Catch the ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ Trailer Early—But Only If You Watch the Upcoming MCU Film
Disney is gearing up to release three exciting new trailers alongside the upcoming Marvel Studios movie, The Fantastic Four: First Steps. According to Feature First, fans can expect fresh looks not only at the highly anticipated Avatar: Fire and Ash but also at TRON: Ares and Predator: Badlands.
These trailers will premiere in theaters when The Fantastic Four: First Steps hits the big screen.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps is set to be a major summer release, joining a lineup that includes Jurassic World: Rebirth and James Gunn’s Superman, both of which are smashing box office records this year. With such a hot schedule, Disney is smart to unveil new footage from some of their biggest upcoming films to reach as many moviegoers as possible.
Avatar: Fire and Ash is the third movie in James Cameron’s Avatar series. Cameron not only directs but also co-produces and co-edits the film, working alongside screenwriters Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, with story contributions from Josh Friedman and Shane Salerno.
The movie follows Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) and brings back many familiar faces, including Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Stephen Lang, and Sigourney Weaver. New additions like David Thewlis and Oona Chaplin are also joining the cast.
James Cameron first talked about making sequels to Avatar back in 2006, hoping to continue the story if the original did well. After the massive success of the first film, he announced the next two sequels in 2010, planning to release the third one in 2015. However, Cameron’s vision expanded to four sequels in total, and the challenge of developing new underwater filming technology slowed things down.
Shooting for Avatar: Fire and Ash began alongside The Way of Water in New Zealand in September 2017 and wrapped up in late 2020 after more than three years of filming.
The movie’s release date has been pushed back nine times, with the latest delay announced in August 2024. Avatar: Fire and Ash is now scheduled to premiere on December 19, 2025. Meanwhile, the next two sequels, Avatar 4 and Avatar 5, are in various stages of production and expected to come out in 2029 and 2031.
With these new trailers premiering alongside The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Disney is making sure fans get a first look at some of their biggest upcoming movies.
