New ‘Nobody 2’ Trailer Drops: Bob Odenkirk Returns for More Action
Fans of Bob Odenkirk are in for a treat. Universal Pictures just released a brand new trailer for Nobody 2, the action-packed sequel to the surprise hit from 2021. Along with the trailer, the studio also announced that tickets are officially on sale for the movie, which is hitting theaters on August 15, 2025.
In this new chapter, Bob Odenkirk is back as Hutch Mansell, the regular dad who’s not so regular. As some fans like to say, he’s basically “your dad’s favorite John Wick knockoff.”
The story picks up four years after the first movie. Hutch is still stuck owing $30 million to the Russian mob. To pay off his debt, he’s been taking on hit jobs nonstop. But even assassins need a break sometimes.
Hutch is back, and boy does he need a vacation!

Hutch and his wife Becca, played again by Connie Nielsen, are struggling a bit in their marriage. So, they decide to take their kids on a trip to Wild Bill’s Majestic Midway and Waterpark, a place that holds memories from Hutch’s childhood. But things don’t stay peaceful for long.
After Hutch clashes with some local bullies, he and his family end up facing a corrupt theme park owner and a shady sheriff. Soon, Hutch finds himself fighting one of the craziest crime bosses he’s ever met.
The movie is being directed by Timo Tjahjanto, who is making his first English-language film. The script comes from Umair Aleem, Aaron Rabin, and Bob Odenkirk himself. Derek Kolstad, who created the first movie, also worked on the story.
Connie Nielsen and Christopher Lloyd are back in their roles too, as Becca and David Mansell. RZA returns as Hutch’s brother Harry. Fans will also see Michael Ironside, Colin Salmon, Billy MacLellan, Gage Munroe, and Paisley Cadorath again. New faces include Colin Hanks, John Ortiz, and Sharon Stone, who plays a character involved in a bootlegging operation.
The idea of a sequel started back in 2021. Connie Nielsen said in interviews that she wanted to learn more about Hutch and Becca’s past. She said, “We actually talked about how they first met when we were making the first movie.” Later that year, Derek Kolstad began working on a sequel script. By 2022, 87North Productions confirmed they were planning the next movie, and David Leitch said the studio was on board. Finally, in December 2022, producer Kelly McCormick confirmed the sequel was officially moving forward.
Filming started on August 6, 2024, in Winnipeg and wrapped up by the end of September the same year. Sharon Stone, Colin Hanks, and John Ortiz joined during that time. Director Tjahjanto even teased on social media that RZA was coming back for more.
Now, with the trailer out and tickets on sale, fans won’t have to wait too long. Nobody 2 arrives in theaters everywhere on August 15, 2025.
