Who would win in a fight: Galactus or Godzilla? According to Fantastic Four director Matt Shakman, it’s not even a real question. He’s sure Galactus would win without much trouble.

In a recent talk, Shakman explained why he believes Galactus would easily beat the famous monster. He said, “He’s not just a lizard brain.” He was talking about Godzilla, saying that even though Godzilla looks powerful, he’s just a big animal.

Galactus, on the other hand, is something else entirely. Shakman pointed out that people forget Galactus is a cosmic being who destroys planets like it’s nothing.

Galactus would win because he’s not just a creature that smashes things. He’s more like a giant god from space. Godzilla can destroy cities, but Galactus eats whole planets to stay alive. Shakman also said that Galactus is much smarter than Godzilla.

While Godzilla fights like a wild beast, Galactus uses his mind and his cosmic powers.

Size also matters. Galactus can change his size whenever he wants. If needed, he could just grow bigger than Godzilla and step on him. Plus, Galactus doesn’t have to fight up close. He can attack from far away using energy blasts and cosmic beams. Godzilla probably wouldn’t even get the chance to fight back.

Because of all this, Galactus is simply stronger, smarter, and way more powerful than Godzilla. That’s why he believes Galactus would win any fight between them.

When it comes to the new movie, actor Ralph Ineson is the man playing Galactus. Both Ineson and Shakman spoke about how they see the character. Shakman called him a “giant, 14-billion-year-old, planet-eating cosmic vampire.”

Ineson sees Galactus a little differently. He doesn’t think the character is evil. Instead, Ineson said Galactus is like a god who’s just doing what he needs to do to survive. Eating planets is normal for him. To help get into character, Ineson said he spent time standing on top of tall buildings and thinking about what it would feel like to be that big and powerful.

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige also played a part in shaping Galactus for the film. Feige showed the team a video of Galactus from the Fortnite video game to help explain how he should look and move in the movie.

Ineson will appear in full costume too, not just CGI. The film team made real purple and blue armor for him to wear, just like in the classic comics. Ineson actually wore the heavy suit on set, and he needed people around to keep him cool between takes because the armor was so hot.

Galactus in Fantastic Four: First Steps will look much more like the original comic book version, not the cloudy version from earlier films. And according to both Shakman and Ineson, he won’t care about life on planets he eats. Ineson said Galactus only spares a world if something there interests him. Otherwise, planets are just food.

That’s everything we know for now. So if you’re a Godzilla fan, you might not like Shakman’s answer, but he’s standing by it.
