The Devil Wears Prada 2 is officially happening, and fans now have their first look at the much-awaited sequel. Set photos have leaked from the filming in New York City, showing Anne Hathaway back as Andy Sachs.

According to reports, Hathaway was spotted shooting scenes dressed in stylish outfits, reminding many people of her iconic fashion moments from the first film. Fans online have been calling her look “stunning.”

This sequel brings back many familiar faces. Meryl Streep is once again playing the legendary Miranda Priestly. Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Tracie Thoms, and Tibor Feldman are also returning to their old roles.

New cast members include Kenneth Branagh, who is playing Miranda’s new husband, along with Simone Ashley, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B. J. Novak, and Pauline Chalamet.

The new movie is directed by David Frankel, who also directed the first film in 2006. Aline Brosh McKenna, the original screenwriter, is back to write the sequel too. The story is based on the novel Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns, written by Lauren Weisberger in 2013. That book was a sequel to her original novel that inspired the first film.

For a long time, it seemed like a sequel would never happen. Meryl Streep had once said she wasn’t interested in doing another movie.

Anne Hathaway had also said she would only return if the project felt fresh, saying it needed to be “something totally different.” But plans changed in July 2024 when Variety confirmed that development of the sequel had officially started. According to reports, both Streep and Hathaway were happy to return to their famous roles.

Filming began at the end of June 2025. Soon after, leaks from the set gave fans their first glimpse of the film in progress, with Anne Hathaway seen filming scenes on the streets of New York.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is scheduled to release in theaters across the U.S. on May 1, 2026. This time, fans can expect to see more of Andy Sachs’ life in the fashion world, and Miranda Priestly’s latest power moves.

Sources like Variety, Deadline, and The InSneider have all confirmed the movie’s production, with insiders describing it as one of the most exciting returns in recent film news. As one source told Variety, “Seeing Anne and Meryl together again is reason enough to get excited.”

From the buzz around the leaked images to the return of the original cast, fans of the fashion-filled world of Runway magazine are more than ready to say “That’s all” once again.
