Last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the cast of The Fantastic Four: First Steps made an appearance, and Alan Cumming was the guest host. During the show, Cumming asked stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach about how hard it’s been to keep Marvel secrets.

Pascal, who stars in The Mandalorian, joked right back at Cumming, reminding him about the time he accidentally spoiled a big fight scene in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie.

“It’s funny that you should ask,” Pascal said with a grin. “The biggest leak that we’ve had comes from our host.”

Cumming had previously hinted at a fight between his character Nightcrawler and Reed Richards, also known as Mister Fantastic, in Avengers: Doomsday, which caused a bit of a stir among Marvel fans. When asked if he got in trouble for the spoiler, Cumming laughed and admitted, “My publicist called me. You know the wrath of your publicist is, not the wrath you want to have.”

He then flipped the question back on Pascal, teasingly asking if the two characters would really fight in the movie. Pascal didn’t answer right away, and the two just laughed it off, denying the spoiler together in a fun moment on the show.

Avengers: Doomsday is one of the most highly anticipated films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely. It brings together a huge cast, including Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, and many others. The story follows the Avengers, the Wakandans, the Fantastic Four, the New Avengers, and the original X-Men as they join forces to take on the villain Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr.

This film is set to release in the United States on December 18, 2026, and will be a major part of Phase Six of the MCU. Its sequel, Secret Wars, is already planned for release on December 17, 2027.

The movie’s plot happens fourteen months after the events of Thunderbolts*, with all these superhero teams coming together to face the powerful threat of Doctor Doom.
