Netflix has finally confirmed what fans have been waiting to hear Season 2 of All of Us Are Dead is officially in production. Along with the announcement, Netflix released a brand-new video to mark the start of filming and to reintroduce some familiar faces.

The hit Korean zombie series first dropped in 2022 and quickly became a worldwide phenomenon. It’s based on the webtoon by Joo Dong-geun and racked up more than 560 million viewing hours in just 28 days.

It even made Netflix’s Top 10 most-watched non-English shows ever, showing up in the Top 10 charts in over 90 countries.

Park Ji-hu, Yoon Chan-young, Cho Yi-hyun, and Lomon are all back this season, returning as survivors of the original zombie outbreak in Hyosan. This time around, the story moves to a new city, and brings in some new faces too. Joining the cast are Lee Min-jae from Weak Hero: Class 2, Kim Si-eun and Roh Jae-won from Squid Game, and newcomer Yoon Ga-i.

Season 2 follows Nam On-jo, played by Park Ji-hu, who’s now trying to move forward with her life as a college student in Seoul. But things take a dark turn again when another outbreak suddenly hits the city. On-jo now has to survive all over again, this time without the same group of friends by her side.

The new season also catches up with fan favorites like Lee Cheong-san, Choi Nam-ra, and Lee Su-hyeok. Meanwhile, On-jo forms a new circle of friends at university, Yong Ma-ru, So Ju-ran, and Lee Jong-a, who have their own way of surviving in this post-apocalyptic world. On top of that, Roh Jae-won plays Han Du-seok, a team leader in the National Intelligence Service, adding some extra edge to the new story.

The show is being directed once again by Lee JQ and Kim Nam-su, and the script comes from returning writer Chun Sung-il. The production is handled by FILM MONSTER, with co-production from SLL Joongang, KIMJONGHAK PRODUCTION, and NPIO Entertainment.

With filming now underway and the new announcement video making the rounds online, fans can finally get excited for the next chapter in the zombie drama that took over the world.
