Ezra Bridger Returns With a New Look in First Look at ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2
Ezra Bridger is back, and he’s looking a little different. Fans just got their first look at the character in Ahsoka Season 2, and this time, he’s showing up with a fresh, beardless look. Eman Esfandi returns to play Ezra, continuing the story that started in Rebels and picked up again in Ahsoka Season 1.

The second season of Ahsoka is set to stream on Disney+ and will have eight episodes. It takes place after Return of the Jedi, in the same timeline as The Mandalorian.
This new chapter finds Ahsoka Tano and her apprentice Sabine Wren stranded in another galaxy, while Grand Admiral Thrawn begins leading what’s left of the Galactic Empire against the New Republic.
Rosario Dawson is back as Ahsoka, a role she first played in The Mandalorian. Natasha Liu Bordizzo also returns as Sabine. Hayden Christensen is back as Anakin Skywalker, and Eman Esfandi continues as Ezra.
Rory McCann joins the cast as Baylan Skoll, replacing the late Ray Stevenson, who passed away in May 2023. McCann takes over a character who was left on a mysterious path at the end of Season 1.
Filming for the new season started in April 2025 in the UK. Dave Filoni is once again running the show, and Lucasfilm is producing the series along with Golem Creations. According to reports, Filoni had been thinking about focusing on Ahsoka Season 2 instead of moving ahead with the planned Mandalorian crossover movie. The second season was officially confirmed in January 2024.
Ezra Bridger’s story has been a key part of this whole saga. He started out as a young thief from Lothal who was trained by Jedi Knight Kanan Jarrus. At the end of Rebels, Ezra vanished with Thrawn into unknown space. The final scenes of Rebels showed Ahsoka teaming up with Sabine to go find him.
Season 1 of Ahsoka picked up that thread, revealing that Ezra and Thrawn had ended up in a distant galaxy. By the end of the season, both of them had returned to the main Star Wars galaxy, but Ahsoka and Sabine were left behind in the other one. Meanwhile, Baylan Skoll began following his own mysterious path, one that led him to ancient statues of the Mortis gods, powerful beings introduced in The Clone Wars.
Fans were left wondering what would happen next with Baylan, especially after Stevenson’s death. The show will now explore where his story goes with McCann taking over the role.
Season 2 will also bring back several familiar characters, including Hera Syndulla, Shin Hati, Huyang, Grand Admiral Thrawn, Chopper, Enoch, Admiral Ackbar, and Zeb Orrelios.
Filoni, who’s been shaping the story since Rebels, is keeping that storyline moving forward. Many fans even consider Ahsoka to be like a fifth season of Rebels. The first season continued where the animated series left off, and the second looks to go even deeper.
With Ezra finally back, a new look, and plenty of unfinished business between characters, the second season of Ahsoka is shaping up to be one of the most exciting Star Wars stories yet.
