Matthew Rhys is officially part of the Invincible universe. During his panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, series creator Robert Kirkman finally let fans in on a secret, Rhys is voicing Dinosaurus, a pretty wild and dangerous character in the story.

If you’ve been following the show, you’ll remember that just last week Prime Video announced Invincible is coming back for a fifth season. Season four is still on the way, but the renewal news was a big deal.

In the announcement video, the cast was surprised with the news, and fans spotted Rhys had joined the voice cast, but his character wasn’t revealed until now. Kirkman cleared that up at SDCC, sharing that Rhys will play Dinosaurus, a separate personality of Dr. David Anders who believes in fixing the world… even if it means a lot of destruction.

Kirkman previously teased what’s coming in Season 4. If you’ve been wanting more Viltrumite action, you’re in luck. “Thragg is cast and will be in Season 4,” Kirkman said. “So, I won’t reveal anything other than… Season 4 has more Viltrumite stuff that you might be wanting.” He reminded fans that in Season 2 we got Anissa and Nolan’s story, and Season 3 had Conquest and more Allen the Alien. According to Kirkman, Season 4 is going even deeper into that side of the story.

Another fun twist is happening with Damien Darkblood, voiced by Clancy Brown. If you caught the end of Season 3, you saw Damien again after being sent to Hell. He was talking to a mysterious demon, voiced by Bruce Campbell. There’s been a lot of talk about whether this demon is actually Satan, and Kirkman isn’t exactly denying it.

Along with Rhys joining the cast, this season also brings in some big names like Aaron Paul, Simu Liu, Jonathan Banks, Kate Mara, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. They’ll join returning stars like Steven Yeun, J.K. Simmons, Sandra Oh, Seth Rogen, and many others.

Invincible continues to grow, and it looks like Season 4 is going to be full of surprises, bigger battles, and new directions. With Kirkman teasing Hell, Thragg, and now Dinosaurus, fans have a lot to look forward to.

Information revealed during Invicible Comic Panel at SDCC.
