Family Guy fans finally got a first look at what’s coming next. During San Diego Comic-Con 2025, the show revealed its official trailer for Season 24. The new footage teases plenty of laughs, big parody episodes, and more of the show’s signature chaos.

While an exact release date hasn’t been confirmed yet, the next season is expected to premiere on Fox sometime in 2026.

The trailer was shown as part of the show’s SDCC panel, giving fans a taste of what’s ahead. One of the biggest reveals was a parody of The Lord of the Rings. It’s not clear yet if it will be a full episode or part of a larger anthology, but based on how Family Guy handled the Top Gun: Maverick parody last season, it could go either way. Either way, the trailer promises a fun ride.

This new season comes after some scheduling changes for the show. Family Guy didn’t air in Fall 2024 like usual. Instead, Season 23 premiered earlier this year during Fox’s midseason block. That shift might now be part of a new routine, as Season 24 is likely following the same release pattern.

The Family Guy team isn’t just focused on the main season either. According to the SDCC panel, the show is also coming back to Hulu later this year with a brand-new Halloween special, set to drop in October. A Christmas special is also on the way. Both of these will be Hulu exclusives, just like two earlier specials that are already on the streaming service.

This Hulu pattern might be the way the show keeps adding extra content while still having its main season air on Fox. Fans can expect a season early in the year, followed by two special episodes later on Hulu.

Despite the schedule changes, Family Guy is still a major part of Fox’s animation lineup. Alongside The Simpsons and Bob’s Burgers, it was given a four-season renewal, locking it in for the future. Even though it’s no longer airing in the fall like before, the network clearly sees it as a key piece of its lineup.

The latest season brought in some fun surprises and deeper character moments, all while sticking to its usual joke-heavy style. It’s clear that Family Guy isn’t slowing down anytime soon. And for fans who want to catch up, all 23 seasons are currently available to stream on Hulu.

Season 24 looks like it’ll continue mixing pop culture spoofs, strange stories, and a little bit of heart, all the things longtime fans expect. The trailer already has people talking, and with more specials on the way, Family Guy still knows how to keep its audience coming back.
